how do you keep track of what you eat? I keep making meal plans but then don't seem to have the time to follow through with the cooking of those & end up eating something else (something Atkins friendly and on track but not what I originally planned) - I'm a little nervous starting up "the ladder" when I'm not doing well keeping track of what I'm eating.. Ideas???

I created an Excel spreadsheet. It works for me. I just enter what I eat after I've eaten.
At work, I'm at my computer the majority of the day (which is the majority of my daily eating occurs).

I used a notebook to log all foods when I started and then I used fitday.com with a small notebook I could stick in my pocketr to write down what I had cause as we all know when you don't write it down your brain erases the carbs from the food. :sarcasmby the book atkinseer

Fitday will do that for you. Write it down in your notebook when you are not near your computer and then enter it into Fitday later.Originally posted by DebbietheHugBugI use a notebook sometimes but it doesn't help me know if my F/P/C ratios are ok.
Anyone know how to do that?

I've started using Fitday again since I'm now serious about going up the OWL ladder. I want to do it right and the only way is knowing exactly how many carbs I'm eating each day. Fitday is great for that.Stacy

I have used fitday virtually every day since I joined this board and discovered it. I usually do an entry each morning of what I expect to eat during the day and update it in the evening preferably before I prepare dinner so I can adjust if needed.
I usually found when on induction that as long as I stuck to the acceptable foods the ratios worked out about right.
If I am out I jot down what I have eaten on my pocket PC (gotta love modern technology) and write it up when I get home.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

I use a notebook.
I have Atkins friendly foods available at home and that's all I buy. So I know that whatever I cook, the ingredients are legal. It's just a matter of jotting things down and calculating my meals.
Depending on your CCLL, you can divide up your carbs over the course of the day. For example, on a Induction menu, you can "spend" 5 carbs for breakfast, 7 for lunch, and 7 for dinner, leaving you with 19 net carbs for the whole day. If you want a snack, you can spend 5 carbs for each meal leaving you with a 5 carb snack.

I enter my foods for the next day the night before - that way I've planned ahead and know what I'm going to eat and if something changes - I have to go back into fitday and update it. It will bug me till I make the change. I'm a little obsessive/compulsive so I love having this one part of my life in order. (fitday and my closet) It's weird but comforting. BTW - I'm starting OWL Monday so I've been watching your threads. Good Luck, v-sly
