  • Why no iron?

I now have the book (yeah!) but can't figure out why I can't have iron. I haven't been taking any vitamins because the ones I have contain iron.

Also is it difficult to find a multivitamin without iron?

    Thank you!

    Re: Why no iron?

I believe the reason they say no iron is because we get a lot of iron from all of the meat that we eat. If you are iron defficent you can still take iron in your vitamins. I take the womens ultra mega vitamins from gnc canada

abouttime is correct. Dr. Atkins beleived we get our 18 mg daily iron from our diet.

        Re: Why no iron?

        Hi there everyone!
I have asked my doctor about too much Iron in the past as i was aneamic;taking a Multi Vitamin and a Iron Supplement from the Doctor,he says this will not harm you at all, any excess will be passed out when you go toilet lol.
I am currently taking a multi vitamin containing iron, also supplement from Doctor as aneamic again and iron from all Protein, if it causes me any problems, i will let you know, it never before.
        Thanks
        Danielle

          Re: Why no iron?

If your foods give you enough iron then you should be able to buy a multivitamin without it.

In UK Superdrugs sell multivitamins both with or without iron - you just need to read the tiny print to see which to buy.

              Re: Why no iron?

I stuck to the supplements I was taking anyway, they do contain iron but I can't see any negative effects.
On the other hand, I do eat meat every day, especially with the warm weather right now, I prefer a salad over something cooked.
