  • Hope All Remained Strong During Memorial Day!

    Hi All:

I started Atkins diet a month ago and have loss 15 pounds as of last Saturday (my next weigh in is tomorrow) and I didn't cheat not once during the long Memorial Day holiday. There were many opportunities to do so, but I'm so pleased with how I look now and I'm only 7 to 10 pounds away from my goal...it just isn't worth it.

I hope that all remained strong and focused. We all are working hard to not only change unhealthy eating habits, but to look and feel better about ourself.

In two weeks, I will see my sister at her son's graduation, luncheon. I have not told her about of my diet and by the time I see her I will be close to 20 pounds lighter. She will notice the change and I hope to persuade her to start Atkins. She is a wonderful person who needs to lose 50 pounds...hopefully she will be motivated...it is a great diet that really works! I can be her support and can help her through induction. Wish me luck.

    Happy Losing,
    Rose

I stayed strong. It was easy with all the grilling going on. With a huge salad loaded with veggies and then a piece of perfectly grilled meat - who could go wrong?

I'm so happy for you, you're so close to goal. Congratulations!

I stayed strong too! Everything went as planned with lots of grilled meats, veggies, salad, deviled eggs, and one hot dog roasted over an open fire! The best treat of the weekend was jicama dipped in guacamole--Yum!

Although a lot of the other ("non-legal") foods looked good I never ever felt deprived and therefore never was really tempted. I think it would have been much harder and I would have been feeling more depressed and more like I was missing out on stuff if I wasn't getting to eat such fabulous foods! I was truly so excited to eat a juicy cheeseburger patty, fresh crisp salad and jicama/guac that it didn't even occur to me to nibble on other stuff! A far cry from trying to stick to a low cal/low fat diet during a party--that was always a total drag!

      Good work ladies!
      Stay tough!
