  • Starting OWL - Sample Menus?

I will be starting OWL Monday. I love veggies so this will be a snap for me - I think. I'd love to see some sample menus from others who are succeeding in OWL - 1st rung. I plan to shop and figure out my menus for the week over the weekend. I love to cook so it doesn't have to be low-maintenance except breakfast which has to be hardboiled eggs and cheese during the week. On the weekends I do love to throw down a grand breakfast though. Menus please? Thanks, soon to OWL and very excited, v-sly

    Welcome to OWL!

I do not have a menu for you as I am at the other end of the ladder, but I do remember when I began I added a salad everyday to get my veggies.

yum, this sounds delicious. So what I'm gathering from my reading is that as the carbs edge upwards (as veggies for the first rung) the fat drops. Is there a percentage we should be shooting for? I really want to do this right. In the past doing Atkins - I always stayed on Induction and got to goal but wasn't able to keep it off so I'm committed (**** and high water and flying pigs!) to working the rungs and doing pre-maintenance and maintenance. I've spent far too much time and energy on my weight over the 40 years of my life and I'm ready do it right this time - each and every step. I really want to embrace this WOE and any menus anyone can give me will be so appreciated. Sorry to gush but I'm feeling kind of overwhelmed about the whole commitment right now. It's a good feeling.

The fat and protien will both drop as you add carbs. There is no specific percentage to shoot for. Just experiment and find what works for you. It sounds like you have the determination this time to do it for life. Congratulations!

Ok, first day of OWL and I guess it won't be much different from induction except for more veggies. Today I'm having curried chicken that I made and some green beans and a salad for lunch. I may have the same thing for dinner too as I made a ton of it yesterday. I plan to try something with pumpkin this week but don't know what yet. I love veggies so I'm gonna enjoy this rung.
