allergies to flax?

Has anyone heard of anyone having an allergic reaction to flax. I have recently started to eat flax seeds and flax meal and have broke out in a itchy red rash on my stomach and legs. I'm not sure if it is the flax. Just wondering if anyone else has had a reaction or heard of someone having one.

you can be allergic to anything your body can recognis so it is entirely possible you have a flax allergy you can test again with a small sample and see if it is the flax or not.

I've seen a number of people that have had allergic reactions to flax. Follow 2Big's advice with testing to find out if it is truly flax that is causing the reaction.

I love flax, but it doesn't love me! I don't get the same reaction you get (no rashes for me) but anytime I consume flax, even a tiny little bit of it, i get these crippling stomach pains. They are really bad.

In my flax review, I found a medically documented (with allergy testing) case of flax allergy. So yes, a person can be allergic to flax, just as some people are allergic to peanuts or egg whites.
