Rung 5 - Alcohol

  • Rung 5 - Alcohol

    Hello I need advice about what to do for Rung 5. I'm not a drinker and I may have a drink once a year...maybe. Would it be wise to skip this rung or have a glass of wine just to see how my body handles it? I also do not cook with alcohol.

    All advice welcome and thank you in advance!

    Atkins says it is ok to skip a rung, but if you would normally stay on a rung for one or two weeks at a time, to stay on the lower rung for that additional amount of time before moving on. I am not sure why.

    If you do not care to drink, I certainly would not! I like a glass of wine in the evening and look forward to having that occassionally, but if your body has access to alcohol, it will burn that before burning fat, so if you don't like it why bother? I am already figuring that when I reach that rung, if I have a glass of wine 2 evenings a week, I will not lose on those two evenings. The important thing to me is that I not gain those evenings LOL

      Thanks Ginny! I just can't imagine sitting here sipping away every other day just to see if my body has a reaction...when I rarely drink as it is. I'll be skipping to Rung 6.
