    I gained back 4 pounds!!!

This is my second day out of induction.. the last time i weighed myself was 2 days ago and I was down 9 pounds. Today i decided I wanted to weigh myself and I gained back 4 pounds!!! AGRrhRHHR i'm so aggravated.

Could it be what i'm eating? what am I doing wrong here?

    Today

I had a flax muffin in a cup for breakfast

I had starbucks green tea but I'm almost 100% sure theres no sugar in there.

for lunch i had to eat out so i went to kfc and had boneless buffalo wings 6 piece.

for a snack I had raw iceberg lettuce slices with a dip made out of creamcheese, cocktail sauce, and baby shrimp.

dinner i had a cup of pumpkin and 1 cup veggies and about a cup of sauteed(sp?) beef and mushroom.

    the day before yesterday..

i had an egg omlet with onions salami and cheese

4 tyson brand chicken wings ( they never affected my weight)

    green tea from coffee bean

double protein style burger from in and out.

    please help.

coctail sauce = sugar... also those veggies.... are you eating them via cab count or cups? A cup cooked pumpkin is about 3 cups raw pumpkin, same with the sauteed veggies....

      Re: Aggravated!

are the chicken wings breaded? If so I would say that is your main culprit. I looked up KFC boneless buffalo wings and they say 33 grams of carb for 5 wings.

Also the cocktail sauce is made with ketsup, unless you are making it yourself with a low carb ketsup.

1 cup of cooked pumpkin from canned is 13 net carbs. Since you are out of induction, you can have 25 net carbs, but with everything else you have probably gone way over.

Atkins says this is a very eat out-friendly diet and it can be, but you have to be really leery of hidden carbs in foods you don't prepare yourself.

I can't really tell from the way you posted your menu, but what are your Induction veggies and what is the 5 net carbs of OWL Rung 1 veggies?

Also, you need to eat 3500 calories over your AMR in order to gain 1 pound of fat. From the looks of your menu, I doubt you did that, unless you ate 14,000 extra calories over the last two days. Considering a pound of beef has about 1120 calories, that would mean you'd have to had eaten about 13 pounds of it.

The weight "gain" is probably water retention.

My induction veggies are green peppers, broccoli, a few carrots, cabbage and califlower.

I think my weight gain is water retention too.. because this morning i weighed myself.. I was at 131 .. i had a boiled egg for breakfast.. and I went to class then ate lunch .. for lunch i had sushi, a salmon and cream cheese roll.. no rice and a glass of water.. I come home and i'm at 137. i'm stumped!! how can i gain that much weight so quick? but i'm not giving up. I'm just hoping i'm not doing anything wrong because I'll just keep gaining weight instead of fixing my mistake. but I dunno what i'm doing wrong!?

            Re: Aggravated!

Carrots are not an induction veggie. I would suggest adding more variety to your veggie choices~~~there is many on the list.

I would also suggest you stay off the scale. Weigh in once a week. Our weight flucuates throughout the day. Dr. A talks about this in the book.

KFC boneless buffalo wings are breaded. As for your weight gain, I agree with the other posters about it being water retention. It's so important not to weigh yourself everyday.

It could also just be your scale. They are notorious for being wrong. I have had several scales which would weigh me different weights each time even if i step on and off 6 times within 10 minutes without eating, drinking or anything else. For the most part now, I just use them as a guideline.

The only really reliable scale I ever had was one of those Dr. style sclaes with the balancing weights. I am thinking about getting another one.

                  Re: Aggravated!

dont let a little weight gain freak you out...I know it's a crappy feeling because I've been having this problem for a month now even though I haven't done anything wrong but it just happens.

Gaining weight (as in fat) that quickly is almost impossible, this has got to be water.
Maybe the foods you ate were high in sodium or TOM comes, there are so many possibilities...

what the others said about some of the foods you ate though, is important, you do need to watch anything you dont prepare from scratch very carefully.

it also looks like you dont really have much to lose (your BMI is quite healthy already) so dont expect any miracles

good luck with getting over this little bump
Date to reach goal: I don't care, as long as it happens :P

Ditto to what Oz said about the carrots. But what have you been eating for your OWL Rung 1 veggies? Remember, during OWL Rung 1 you eat 3 cups of Induction veggies PLUS 5 net carbs of any Induction veggie.

                      Re: Aggravated!

I'm putting my vote in for water as well, and do yourself a favour and don't weigh so often. If you must, make it once a day ONLY, first thing in the morning, after you've been to the bathroom, with no clothes on. I know that sounds like a lot of rules, but it's the only true weight you'll ever get. Then just track the number and don't think of it as your "true" weight. You'll start seeing patterns as to how your weight fluctuates. Mine bumps around in five pound blocks, so I could be five pounds up or down at any given time. I take an average once a week.

You probably don't want to hear this, but it looks like you're not eating enough, and definitely not enough fat. Start using FitDay, you'll be amazed at what you didn't know about your eating habits. If your fat intake is under 60%, add some butter, mayo, or bacon. I find the higher my fat %, the faster I lose.

                      Good luck!

I'm going to run it off tomorrow. You guys are so supportive! Thank you!!!!!!! I think I will weigh myself every morning right when I wake up instead.. because then I will see my weight fluctuations and not freak out the next time I weigh myself.
