  • I am so happy. :..)

I started OWL. I increased my veggie intake, and now i'm onto dairy. Today, I'm going to try some no-carb ice cream, I think. But the bigger news?

    I'm 185 pounds. I could cry, I'm so happy. I haven't been 185 in...well...8 years or so.

I have 10 to 15 more pounds to go. This IS going to happen this time. THIS time....I am GOING TO DO IT!

    YAY!!!

Sorry - I just weighed myself. I'm not crazy. Have a good day ya'll!

Congratulations, looks like you are almost there

Careful with the ice cream though, unless you made it yourself, you really need to watch the ingredients, I've seen aspartame a lot in sugar free ice cream.

anyway, you keep going, good luck.
Date to reach goal: I don't care, as long as it happens :P

Congrats on the weightloss! I suggest making your own icecream. It's delicious After making my own with ingredients that I can pronounce, I would never buy icecream again.

        Happy lowcarbing!

          Hey guys -

I'm down to 183.5. I'm not sure how it's happening, because, to be honest, I've cheated a bit this weekend because of a festival we had in the area. It wasn't a big cheat, just some drinking. Then I followed it up with something to eat last night that wasn't quite in plan.

I feel bad, and I don't intend to do it again soon, but let me ask this question: do you guys cheat every once in awhile? I'm not asking this for "permission" but just to understand how the body reacts to one cheat a week or a month.

Anyway, back to Atkins for me. I tried some ice cream yesterday and I noted no discernible cravings triggered by it, which makes me happy. Tomorrow, I think I start on nuts, so we'll see how that goes. The interesting thing abouts the rungs is learning how moderately these portions were supposed to be eaten in the first place. Now that i don't have the same cravings for them that I used to, moderation is easy! Now what's THAT all about?

Anyway, naughty Jason will go hide and wait for chastising replies now. haha j/k

I will chastise you!! Be careful...this how falling of the wagon can start! You cheated...you got away with it...nothing more dangerous than cheating and getting away with it. Now you are thinking...hmmm...maybe I can do this once a week or once a month...then it turns into twice a week or twice a month. And pretty soon, you won't even be aware that it is happening...but you will be having more nonlegal meals and days than legal. Been there...done that. Just a warning and just my opinion. Best of luck!

What Elsie150 said! You've come too far and are too close to goal to mess it up now but not following through to the end. All those things, except sugar and white flour, will be legal soon enough!

be very carefull some times we get caught up in the " Its ok look how far I have come, this will be my one treat for being so good" Then before you know it one leads to two and so on. Congrats on your accomplishment you are so close Jason focus and get right back on track.

I find that if I go off the plan, it leads to sugar cravings etc. So I try really hard not to.

Keep up the awesome work. You have come so far.

                  Hey all...

I know what you guys mean, and what you say is true. I'm glad you are here to hold me accountable, because sometimes, that's what we need...to hear someone say "i've been down that road." I've been down it too, enough times to know that I needed to stop it from happening again. Which is why I put the brakes on, came here, and opened up to you guys. Thanks.

So, this is what has happened today. There was NO cheating, and I didn't really feel the need to cheat either. I went to Fuddruckers and got a burger with a slice of cheddar and two strips of bacon and a little lettuce on the side. Threw the bun away. It was a fine meal. I did experiment with the rung i'm on a bit today, even though I cheated last night. I had 1/2 cup of low-carb ice cream, with a total net carb of 5 or 6. It was a fine treat. I'm having dinner here shortly, which will be shrimp, with homemade guacamole, on salad greens. I've been eating my greens.

As far as cheating? I agree with what was said: I'll have some of those things again soon enough. For now, I'm alright without. I am lucky though - i haven't had any cravings, and I've been able to keep myself from slipping.

Good luck Jason...experimenting is what the rungs are all about. You just have to do it in the way it is set up. Keep climbing those rungs. You should be learning about premaintenance being 13.5 pounds from goal!

Re: I am so happy. :..)

I just want to say, you should be so proud of yourself for making it so far!!! I envy you!

So I just want to add to the advice to not bother with cheating....
Recently I took a trip to NJ...where my three favorite things in the UNIVERSE are. Italian Ice, Jersey pizza, and Canollis. My oh my....

I "let" myself come off plan for the 2 days and promised myself to be back on Monday....yeeaaaa rightttt. That so didn't happen...Tuesday came and went...and still just needed one more day. Well, here I am 3 weeks later getting ready to restart tomorrow. It took me TWO MONTHS to lose my 9 pounds and they are all back plus one. Completely my own fault...but it IS a slippery slope, in deed.

I don't want to see you fall like I just did. I know it must be HARD work to get through induction, and work your way up...it's so not worth it.
You will be there soon enough

Keep doing what you're doing b/c not only is it working, you also inspire others.
