I'm starting OWL today - veggie rung. How long do most of you stay on a rung before moving to the next rung. A week doesn't seem long enough to me. What are your thoughts on this? I can't wait to get to berries (and I'll admit I'm looking forward to a glass of wine) but I'm also a little nervous about moving too quickly.

This is my 2nd day on OWL and I'd like to stay on Rung 1 for 5 or 6 weeks, if possible, but I'm really going to just take it one day at a time while monitoring how my body responds. This is where we learn how our bodies are affected by various foods and the length of time needed to gather that information will be different for each individual, I think. The important thing is to implement that knowlege into creating our own customized WOE and that will be a fail proof ticket to success for all of us.
During Induction, I discovered 3 problem foods (tuna, mayo, avocado) that caused symptoms and weight gain so those foods have been eliminated from my diet. If I run into more food intolerances on rung 1, I'll probably at that point move to another rung right away because I don't think any further restrictions on my food choices would be doable for me.

I usually add a new one every month. Gives me time to check out everything and try a lot of varieties. For example, berries rung.... One week blackberries, one week strawberries, etc. Also it gives me something to look forward to. I am currently on berries. Anyway hope that helps. BTW Nuts took a little longer. I tried salted versus unsalted and unsalted really works better for me. And tried a lot of different varieties.

it depends on you and your food likes dislikes and metabolism. If you are not going to eat any different from induction vegies on the first 1 then you will be just seeing if you can handle the higher carb amounts so a short stay would be fine.
When you get to rungs with new to you foods you want to experiment as much as possible in a safe condition so you spend longer there where you know it isn't the new carb total effecting you but the new food that is effecting you as you test out many different foods eating each one no miore then 3 times a week the first week it is new to you.
If you only want one food of the new rung like yogurt on the fresh dairy rung then you can test it and move after the second week.
See it is a very variable thing and you the scientist control it. you can also drop back down to a rung after you have passed it if you decide hey i want to try some more foods on that rung. You can also go sideways if say you love the induction veggies you can 'stutter" in your climb and do 1,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
HAve fun and remember if a food gives you trouble drop it immediatly and alsway have a fat with your new carbs Chapter 14 of DANDR.by the book atkinseer

obviously this OWL is the ticket. Down another pound after a long hiatus. Veggies are my friend. I must admit though - I can't wait to have low carb tortillas. It'll be a while.

ketosis question
As my carb counts go up and my fat percentage drops - should I expect to stay in ketosis? I am still in it now but wonder how long this will last. My fat has already dropped into the mid 50% range as I've increased veggies.
