  • Very slow progress

I have been making REALLY slow progress these last few weeks. I have tried moving up a rung with no luck. I have found that my CCLL is very low right now. I know that it is my own fault as well. We have sold our house and I am spending every minute I can trying to pack (which is not much). I leave the house for work at 6:30am and return around 5:00pm. I say hello to my 7 1/2 month old and start cooking dinner. I try to pack while cooking, then I feed her while eating. I try to pack some more. Then bath time and such so I haven't been exercising (other than walking alot at work). I have kept my water intake up and am eating a more induction like menu until after we move. We will have access to an exercise room 24 hours a day and a POOL!

BTW I did make it down into another weight range! That makes me happy.

My current weight is 179, I will update my stats after this post.

I'm having the same issues. I just try to fit in exercise whenever I can and I know that as long as I'm exercising everyday I look better than the day before. Although, i don't have an infant.

don't be too hard on yourself... its a slippery slope when your negative and under the stress you are under. Be gratful for the progress albeit slow... slow is better than stopped. when you get situated in your new place drop a rung or return to induction and make up for this lost time... even though its not lost... cause as you say, you are losing just slowly
      ...YOU can do it....
Just reading your post made me tired!

ARe you losing inches? Losing inches means you are losing weight too. So measure yourself and see if you are losing inches.

During my OWL I went a few months without really losing any weight---one week I would be down 1 pound, the next I would be up 2 pounds, the next I would be down 2 pounds, etc. But I was losing inches, so I wasn't in a weight loss stall by Dr. Atkins definition. By the end of those months, I had lost 3 dress sizes.

So if you are losing inches, I say keep on moving up the carb ladder, adding 5 net carbs of OWL foods, until you stop losing inches. Then back off to the previous carb level----just as you would if you were following the scale.

Wow! Good for you keeping track of things and taking care of eating and life. That's a great thing! Watch the inches and I bet you'll see a major change. I'm moving up the OWL ladder slowly and a slow loser at that---but the inches are coming off.

            Keep going!

So, you lost 3 dress sizes without losing any weight? That's interesting. I'll have to remember that when the pounds don't fall off.

We have been having challenges where we take a picture in really tight pants and the object is after three months, to fit in the pants. In the one we had a while back, at least two people weighed 2 or 3 pounds more at the end of the challenge, but their pants fit way better than when they weighed less. They had been sticking to the diet and exercising. Many times we lose inches when the scale doesn't go down and sometimes it goes up.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

If it makes you feel any better I haven't lost any weight in 7 weeks, but I've lost over 20 inches off of my body.

Here's a thread I started about it that might help you:

I like that idea about the pants, Sunny!

                      Re: Very slow progress

Dr. ATkins wrote that the loss of inches represents fat emptying from your cells. We're in this diet thing to lose fat! So if you lose inches, it's as good as or better than losing the pounds on the scale.

When I was losing, I noticed that my body size in relation to my weight was not the same. Here's what I mean....When I was gaining my weight, I noticed at 210 pounds I was wearing a size 24 W. However, when I was losing my weight, at 210 pounds I was in a size 20W. I was the same weight, but I was definitely smaller. Was that better? For me it was! Being able to fit into smaller clothes and looking smaller was thousands of times better than what the scale said. Unless, I walk around carrying a sign that says "Hi. Today, I weigh _______ pounds." No one will know how much I weigh, but everyone (me included) will see that I look slimmer, look trimmer and look healthier.

This is a better compliment for me: "Hey Megs, you lost alot of weight! You're really skinny." As opposed to: "You lost 40 pounds? Well, I guess if you work out more, you'll tighten up and look smaller."
