How do you count Cauliflower carbs when you steam it with salt? All I can find is raw and boiled with and without and what a dramtic difference between raw and cooked - I don't want to mess up my counting
yes thank you. These computer programs are driving me nutty and i am such a meticulous accountant.
Is there a really good book or source that I can use and jsut tally stuff by hand. I hate havign to customize all these foods and then Fitday doesn't deal with the fractions...so that's jsut not accurate enough for my perfectionistic ways
Corinne T. Netzer "The Complete Book of Food Counts" is the book I use. In almost every case it is right on the mark with Atkins carb counter. It gives you calorie, fat, carb, fiber, protein, etc.
Easier yet, I just got a digital food scale that has a code you punch in that gives you all that in a second!
When in doubt about veggies, measure it raw and count that. Depends on how much you cook it as to how much it cooks down. I don't cook my veggies much so they are still crispy and cook down very little.
Sunny!
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Fitday makes me absolutely insane so I figure everything in a food journal done the old fashion way~~~paper & pencil. I use Dr. Atkins' New Carbohydrate Gram Counter. You will find that different books & there are some variables. Find one that you like & use that one consistantly.
Good luck!
