  • Weight gain! Ack!

    Okay, it's been a rough week and I seem to suddenly be on a gaining spree. I only cheated once, which was days ago, but I can't get back to losing. It's only this morning that the scale didn't go up (it didn't go down either). Somehow I've gained 3 pounds in 3 days -Yikes!

    I went out for a burger on Tues and of course didn't eat the bun, but I did sneak 4 fries from my boyfriend's plate. How can a small amount like that cause such a severe reaction? I've been strict the rest of week with my meals and even avoided the daily handful of blueberries until I got my body back on track. What happened? Should I go back to induction for a week or more?

    Please help! I'm so upset to be gaining after working so hard.

    Hi Chrissy_1978, from my reading on this board. The general concensus for oopsies are, go on with the way you have been eating. Don't let a slip stop you from the success that is ahead for you. Try to figure out why you goofed, then don't put yourself in that situation again. Great job confronting the mistake, you are going to do well from here on out.

      Is it anywhere near that 'time of the month'?

        Thanks for the replies. I Think I slipped up because as I've been moving further up the rungs, I realized that my ACE was alot higher than I assumed and I became overly confident. Nobody likes denying themselves and I didn't see the harm in having a few "forbidden" foods. This might not be the reason for the weight gain (I'm down a pound from yesterday- yay!), but it's a good lesson.

        Elizellen- It's not really close to that "time", but thanks for bringing me back down to earth There's something about watching the numbers on the scale rise that causes panic to set it, especially after months of seeing them going down.

        I think I was retaining water due to the hot, humid weather we're having right now. I have also been rollerblading almost every evening for a few weeks, something I used to do only every so often, and I may have gained some muscle.
