I just started the OWL rung 1 this past Saturday. I think I'll stay here about two weeks. I'm just wondering which rung gave people the most trouble? Veggies seem to be doing well with me. I only really like dark veggies, and most veggies allowed on the list. I weigh in on Saturday to see if I'm making progress.

Re: What rung did you stay at the longest?
I stayed on rung one the longest. I had lots of problems with dairy, fruit and nuts, so I had to keep going back to the basics of rung one.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

It was more than weight gain. With nuts and fruit, my cravings came back with a fury. I couldn't stop with a serving. Apples are the only fruit I can eat and stop with a serving.Originally posted by brightstar7801 View PostSo what you did was go up a rung and if you gained weight you went back down, and then up again to try a new food?
I can't have peanut butter in the house. With tree nuts, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, I can keep them in the freezer and stay out of them, but that took a long time to happen.
In order to stay at a reasonable weight, I have to stay with lots of rung 1 veggies and treat the other rungs as a once in a while treat. I am now trying out dried beans again. I made black bean soup from scratch and made it last a long time. I didn't gain from it like last year.
I hope you fare better with the rungs. Most people do.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Re: What rung did you stay at the longest?
Hi Brightstar!
I also started OWL rung 1 this past Tues., Since your ahead of me by a few days, I would be really interested to see if you continue losing after moving up. You are just adding five more carbs of veggies right? What about excercise- how often and what are you doing?
Thanks,
Abbey

I was on rung 1 the longest as I learned about all the different veggies and whatnot I could eat. The next long stop for me was nuts and berries.

Like Brook, I spent alot of time on Rung 1 trying out a bunch of different lower carb/green leafy veggies---especially those that weren't on the list, like watercress and some asian veggies, because I ate those in my pre-Atkins days and wanted to re-incorporate them.
Like Sunny, I spent alot of time on the Dairy rung because I ran into a problem with ricotta cheese. Through A.L.O.T. of trial and error, I learned that I can only eat 1 brand of ricotta without having my weight loss stall.~Megs~

Re: What rung did you stay at the longest?
So far I won't know until Saturday. I think I might have to weigh more frequently in Owl to see if veggies are stalling me. So far I have added Brussels sprouts, snap peas, and I've added onions to my list. I lost another half inch so I'm down to 35' in the waist, and I've gone down a cup size in the chest department. These vegetables haven't given me any extra cravings, so I hope that I lost some weight.
As for exercise I try to do 300 ab exercises every day (sometimes I only get in 100), I do squats this takes me about 10 minutes, and then I do walk away the pounds the three mile with weights, that's 45 minutes. So I exercise about an hour a day 5 days a week. Since I've added the exercise in more, I haven't lost weight but my lost inches are steady.

Remember that inches lost mean you are still losing even if the scales don't move, so do measure as well as weigh to check on how the different rung foods are affecting your losses.Originally posted by brightstar7801 View PostSo far I won't know until Saturday.
