  • I think I made it...sort of...

Hey guys! Well, I'm one half pound from goal...does that count?! I kind of got hung up on the OWL rungs though. I did the more veggies, skipped dairy, added nuts, but maintained my carb count around 20 or so. I feel like I didn't do it right, but the good news is I think I need another 10lbs or so. That'll give me time to continue OWL and find my CCL.

I think I need some real help here. I'm so not good at adding the foods... :sadblinky

Thanks Rich! BTW, did you change your goal as well? I thought your original goal was like 190 or something...

I think 200 is an ok weight for me if I got in better shape, but perhaps I'd be better off around 190 or so. It's so weird for me to be talking about being under 200lbs! LOL

Regardless, I need to ease myself back into some carbs. I guess perhaps berries, eh? Nuts didn't hurt me at all and I ate them almost every day.

Yep my original goal was 195. I am there now, but decided that 180 wouldnt be too bad.

            Yay Higgies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I think the main thing is to stop being scared of getting your carb count up higher. You exercise like a demon and therefore you should be able to handle a CCLL of at least 50. Do you remember how much you lost during the first two weeks of induction?

Do you like yoghurt? I've found natural yoghurt (usually no added sugar) and berries a great thing for lunches. That may be a good way to start you on the berry rung. The booze rung is no prob as we know you handle that one Legumes could mean adding chilli beans to a chilli recipe or something and try them that way.

I pretty much skipped fruits except the occasional piece now and then, it's something I'm saving for maintenance. But there's another option with this rung to get that carb count up.

Then all that is left is the starchy veges and whole grains. Don't be scared of carrots, they are actually lower than you think. Maybe add some grated carrot to your salads.

Wholegrains? Try out some low carb tortillas, or wholegrain bread.

Just remember you have to get OVER your CCLL to gain weight and my guess is your ccll is pretty high.

            Have fun playing

              Woo hoo congrats to you.

since you have already done the veggies and the nuts up your carbs safely by increasing the amounts of the veggies by say 10 right now as 5 pounds to goal you should be in premaintenance not modified OWL.

You are looking for weight loss stoppage or loss of craving control. your appetite will returnas you get your carbs higher but since you were supposed to learn to control it with portion size control and all the practice eatting we did in OWL we know how much food we can eat to satisfy the hunger and what foods to avoid.

Once you find have added to about 40 net carbs of foods you have al;eady eatten, mostly veggies you can add some more of the rungs in their 10 net carb jumps we do in pre and see if you can handle the new foods, and/or carblevels. That is wht OWL is the great food experiment

              Happy low carbing

aww Higgies I know how you feel... I am terrible at the rung climbing and have not ventured too much and also keep telling myself ..."loose another five lbs" but it has to "end" sometime and being on a mission to loose weight seems so much easier than settling in to a weight...this lb is tormenting me....so if I make it five will it be easier?....anyway ....what I am doing and if this helps is to continue to force myself to add foods every other week..... I am still adding berries....and watch the total carb count...even when I ate cake it did not bounce me out of ketosis so so far I only went back one time...I figure I am not going to fixate on the lb left and just keep relearning how to eat!.....ok so I am still fixated..but I am trying to get over it!!!.....
add foods slowly and enjoy that new body!!!....
