  • confession and question?

I just had cake for my 30th birthday. Even worse it was Culver's ice cream turtle cake! Oh well. I do have one question for anybody though. No, I have not read the book, have not had a chance to pick it up. I figure I will be told to read the book after asking this ridiculous question.
But, I was wondering if once you move up the rungs are you still supposed to eat such high fat? E.g. Eggs and bacon for breakfast?

    Re: confession and question?

Well, you really should read the book, because you'll understand exactly why Dr. Atkins tells us to do things and that will help you in your diet.

As for high fat....Atkins is a high fat diet. Fat remains the staple throughout the weight loss phases and during Maintenance phase it still comprises about 50% of the daily calories.

can you give me an example of one of your sample menus for a day? Are you in OWL or maintenance? It looks as though you have been very successfull. Congratulations.

What stage of your Atkins journey are you at, Jennifer?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

          Re: confession and question?

Jennifer, OWL and Pre-Maintenance menues are very individualized because those stages are the ones where we may eat more than 20 net carbs daily (if our metabolism allows us to) and where we eat different foods, like fruits, berries/melons, legumes, starchy veggies, nuts and grains. So giving you a sample of my daily menues doesn't really help you out much because what might be appropriate for my body, isn't necessarily appropriate for yours. When you read the book, you'll understand what I've said better.

As Elizellen said, what phase are you in?
