  • Over induction.....any sweet treat out there?

I'm through induction and am moving on to OWL. Of course I"ll start by adding in the extra veggies, but what I"m wondering is...is there anything sweet that I can have yet? Any recipe ideas. Someone told me they were eating 1 0z of cream cheese and a TB of peanut butter (combined and chilled)- but I want to make sure it's acceptable before I ruin anything.
ANY ideas would be appreciated- I would just like to have a sweet something available for special treats.
    THANKS

I've moved this thread to the OWL Forum, so we don't confuse the 14 Day'ers with OWL questions, and so you get a better response. :yes

All the best to you in your new phase!!

There are plenty of naturally sweet "treats" you could have had during induction:

      crustless pumkpin pie
      stewed rhubarb
      sweetened cream cheese
      custard

All of them would use a sugar substitute, which would count towards your daily sweetener limit of 3 servings. The limit doesn't change in OWL either.

I would like to add that peanut butter is not allowed until you are in the nut/seeds rung :nod

Check the recipes board at top, there are lots of sweet/dessert type goodies you can have.

As Not2Late said, no matter what phase you're in, the allowed amount of sweetner never changes.

A little whipped cream with a sprinkling of cocoa powder (I don't use any AS in mine, but that's up to you)

You'd be surprised what satisfies the "sweet" impulse -

jicama sticks (with or without dip)
          kohlrabi sticks (as above)

Experiment with mild veggies for dip - broccoli stems, cauliflower, daikon, radishes, snow peas

celery and cream cheese (even mix up your cream cheese with some black olives and italian spices for a Greek flavour if you wish)

There's a great many things that can be mixed with cream cheese to create an Atkins-friendly spread for veggies, and the sweetness of the cream cheese just may satisfy those cravings.
