    Re: struggling . . . please help

I would just like to say that for me, the decision to stay "on plan" often revolves around remembering how terrible it felt to be "waiting to start" or "going to start" or "have to start" something that will get the weight off my body. There is nothing worse (in my opinion) than sitting there, thinking it's time to lose weight. It's such a powerless feeling. At least when I'm on plan, even if I'm bored, or craving, or stalled... I know it's a temporary thing. Being off plan, for me, often means lots of procrastinating, arguing with myself and wondering what/when/how to get moving again. That's a misery no carb craving can match. Good luck to you. BigLove, S.

Thanks everyone. It's a week and a half later than when I wrote this, and I feel so much better now. I'm going to have to try to remember next time I feel this way that if I can just keep going somehow I will probably feel better and very glad I did a week later.

that is a great attitude. when you feel like that, come here too! you'll find lots of motivation and stick with-itness. sometimes just getting thru the day and waking up the next morning, seeing that you did it will help keep you on track....think in small increments for the big reward!

          Re: struggling . . . please help

I'm late to your intial post. But good for you for sticking it out! When life is easy - things are good. It's during the trying times that we grow. I have hit a few atkins "walls" along the way. I also thinkabout how if I give up - there is no hope in going forward. So I stick it out and push through, knowing it can only get better. I agree with trying new recipes. I have also noticed that for me the "blahs" and the "I don't even want to eat at all" usually stem from 1. hormone fluctuation for the month and/or 2. a nutritional defecit (like being lazy with my vitamins and supplements). I will postpone weighing myself during these time b/c it makes me feel forced to stay commited. B/c if I weigh and I am the same or a bit higher - then it negatively reinforces my negative mind set. Not knowing if I lost pushes me to continue forward until the next weigh. I only allow myself to weigh once a week, smae time, no clothes, ect - otherwise I get too obsessive with it.

Anywyas, that is some of what works for me. Hang in there! I remember feeling like quitting at 30# lost and I am so glad I didn't give up! You WILL get there, one day at a time
