ok so this week I have to loose this last lb!!! come on body!!!!.....I am eating well that is not the issue..aside from my periodic lapse in pistachio judgement I eat about 35 carbs and 1400 or so calories.I am in ketosis....and get plenty of exercise intentional and otherwise....I did overeat yesterday but I was starving and tired and did not have a plan ..that is always self defeating....planning is essential in this woe...so here I am stating that I can not sit here one lousy lb from goal for much longer with out screaming!!!!!..... :yikes I did loose half inch each from my stomach and hips this week....and my pants are loose loose....if only the scales would reflect my body size...I am fixated on them!!!!....I keep fluctuating from one lb to two lbs over goal!...and my goal is 5lbs above what I should weigh for my height..maybe if I make my goal 6lbs to loose it will come off?

Have you checked to see if you have had fat loss and muscle weight gain and you no longer need that one pound to be gone to be healthy? Our boduies are constantly morphing on Atkoins between the fat loss the fluid gains and loses and the sadded lean body tissues.

Shave your head
Ok I'm just kidding. The half inch gone this week is fantastic, that's what makes me more happy than the scale going down. Are you in the size you want to be for goal? I'd just put the scale away for at least a week and relax and enjoy yourself.30/f 182/137/130 5'5

I can sympathize I went thru this exact same thing with my last two lbs...all i needed to see wast that magic number 120 at least ONCE onthe scale...and it eluded me for quite some time! you will get there...trust me! i go up and down 2 lbs either way now and it doesn't bother me..i consider myself at goal even if i only see the 120 number twice a month and 122 the rest (being female we're all gonna fluctuate constantly i figure) I know how hard it is not to obssess over it...Jen, 39, F

A guy at work today told me I was losing more weight.
I wish the scale would agree, but I have to believe it's the muscle replacing the fat that makes it a big techno-mechanical liar and tease. I've been working out more frequently, and the scale, if anything fluctuates annoyingly with a couple of pounds, so I'm trying to choose not to listen to the scale, and instead focus on the:
health
well-being
fit of my clothing
But mainly, the health issue. I'm healthy. I'm getting fitter. I have more stamina. I've been able to increase my time on the elliptical machine without having a cardiac. I've been able to increase my weight on the machines without straining and causing ulsers and hernias.
Focus. Different Mindset. That's my lecture to myself on days like you're having.Started Atkins: 21 Sep 2003

I reread my pre-maint section of DANDR and he said we should take up to 3 months to lose the last 5lb, so that we learn how to do maintenance and basically are on maintenance by the time we hit goal. So maybe he is up there sabotaging your scale until you've had your 3 months of pre-maint??
