  • Pecans on OWL

Can someone tell me what's the deal with pecans on OWL? Can they be added during Rung 3, or not? And if not on Rung 3, then when? Thanks!

Pecans are nuts, so they can be added back when you reach Rung 3.

Thanks Georgiana. I was confused because they are omitted from the list of Rung 3 nuts on the Sticky that's at the top of the OWL forum. I thought there might be a reason they couldn't be added when the other nuts were.

Same goes for cashews (but I was more interested in adding pecans because they are not very carby).

In DANDR 2002 Dr Atkins tells us to add nuts at these amounts rather than to add 5 net carbs of them in the Power of 5 table
          Nuts and Seeds
          1 ounce of:
macadamias (approximately ten to twelve nuts)
          walnuts (approximately fourteen halves)
          almonds (approximately twenty-four nuts)
          pecans (approximately thirty-one nuts)
          hulled sunflower seeds (three tablespoons)
roasted shelled peanuts (approximately twenty-six nuts)
1/2 ounce of cashews (approximately nine nuts)
I don't visit the Atkins company website often so am not sure if they have changed this rule like they have others from the book that we go by here
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

once we get to this rung - (or any rung for that matter) - is this per DAY or per WEEK?...i don't remember and i don't have my book on me.

so, for example - when i get on rung 3, can I have 10 - 12 macadamias PER DAY or per WEEK?...
