    Re: moving up the ladder

If you are still losing weight, there is no harm in moving up the ladder. In fact, it might be better for you, because you will see how high your CCLL is and will be able to relax and enjoy OWL more.

I often see OWLers who stop at 25 or 35 net carbs because they are "too scared" to go higher. Then they have a "mishap"---too many carbs---and they freak out because they think they won't lose any weight and they go back to Induction.

I say, find your CCLL. Then enjoy the rest of your OWL. You'll know how many carbs you can eat daily and still lose weight. There won't be any nagging questions or doubts.

Water melon is the one variety of melons that is not a rung 4 fruit You can try any of the other ones though - ogen, honeydew etc.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

ARe you losing inches? Dr. ATkins defined weight loss as loss on the scale and/or loss of inches. So if you aren't losing pounds but still losing inches, you are still losing weight.

            Other things to consider are:
-Did you change your exercise regimen? Sometimes changing the regimen may cause water retention, so you may not see any movement on the scale.
-If you are female, your "time of month" may cause water retention and you may not see movement on the scale.
            -Are you constipated?

One of the rules of OWL is if the introduction of any food slows or stops weight loss or bring back any blood sugar instability symptoms, you drop that food. To see if it is the cause of your problems.

So look at your food journal. Did you see a slow down in your losses when you added the ice cream and/or peanuts?

About the low carb ice cream.....is it home made or store bought? If it is store bought, carefully read the ingredients. There was a time when some "low carb" ice creams were made with high fructose corn syrup and sugar. So re-read that ice cream you are eating.

About the peanuts.....in OWL, we add 1 ounce of nuts or seeds, with the exception of cashews which is limited to 1/2 ounce. 5 net carbs is too much. The reason is most likely due to the calories 5 net carbs of nuts/seeds contains.

ok i have lost about a 1/2 inch this week still cant see on scale tho it says i have gained
but like i said i havent been going to the bath room like i should but i am loosing inches
so i think ill try to keep going up the ladder to see how much i can go before i start gaining or stop loosing inches
