  • a little help

    ok i wanted to find my ccll so i was at 35g a day i dont eat berries and not much on beans so i went to 45g a day just eating more of what i was i did add low carb beer and my ketosis sticks are still reading that i have a small trace of ketones still should i keep going up until there is none or is 45g of carbs my ccll i havent lost or gained in the past week how long should i stay at 45g now if i go back to 20g a day will the weight start coming off agin i am a long way from still 60lbs to go

    You know my book is buried someplace and so I could be wrong, but it seems to me, you go up 5 and stay until you start losing weight, then 5 more. I think I would give it a couple weeks, but if you don't lose, go back down to where you were losing, 40?

      I have read it as you return to the level you were losing at but its also about finding what food react more than others.

      I am down to losing 2lb a week from an average of 3lb to 4lb a week, but am still only on the extra veg rung. Found out this week that tomatos and me don't like each other :0)

      It's such a learning curve... loving it!

        Try dropping the beer first and see if you start losing again before you drop down IMO.

        In this case, I'd definately not depend on the ketostix, as alcohol will show as ketosis on them even if you're not in it. It throws them off.

          Alcohol shows up on the stix as a false positive for up to three days after you drink it. If you are going to drink alcohol, you need to give up the ketostix as a way to judge ketosis. Dr. Atkins said the strips will not turn color when you reach 50 grams or more carbs, anyway.
          People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

            ok i had 2 1/2 bud lights last sunday. Let me tell every body they say low carb but they
            have over 6 carbs per 12 oz can micoloble ultra only has 2.6 carbs per 12 oz can i found that out after the fact i still am showing mod ketosis levels a week after the beer im going to cut back on the nuts and stop the beer and see what happens

              If you are doing OWL, then you should only add 5 net carbs at a time. You've added 10 (from 35 to 45).

                well i was eating to much nuts i cut them back to 1 oz i was eating 5 to 6 g of carbs
                people will let you know when you are doing something wrong and im glad they will since i cut back just on the nuts iv lost 2 lbs
