    Does anyone use cocout oil?
I have to say the oil makes me gag it's so sweet.
But I'm forcing it. I do notice a few minutes after I have eaten it,
I get this burst of energy. They say it boosts your metabolism.
I hope so because my metabolism is so sluggish.
I'm an LMT and work my butt off. I do sports massages
and neuromuscular. My muscles are used to the full everyday but the fat is still there. By the time I get home after having done 4-5 massages,
I'm very tired and can't exercise so the cardio is lacking.
Right now I'm just really being strict with my carbs again since 10 pounds of weight gain and am doing better. I feellllllll better!

I use coconut oil. I mix it with splenda and cocoa and a spash of vanilla, spread on a buttered plate and freeze for 'chocolate bark.' I have never been able to handle the idea of just taking it by the spoon, but if you do a search on it, you will find quite a few who do!

Ah, I love the coconut oil. There's a web site I recommend for studying up on the benefits of consuming coconut oil.

      Coconut Research Center Home Page

You're right on about the burst of energy. I have 2 jars here and haven't had it for awhile. You've nudged me to have some. It also improves insulin secretion and utilization of blood glucose. We can appreciate that!! I think I'll get back to it. It would be interesting to see exactly what the effects would be now....I've just held off because my fat intake was high enough....I'd have to cut some serious fat in other places to replace it with the coconut oil, but it's worth a shot again. Over time, you won't want to gag so much. I've tried new foods on this WOE that made me want to gag much more than coconut oil ever did!! I do miss that burst of energy though!! I would down some at home on my lunch hour and have energy all through the afternoon at work. Nothing I eat gives me more energy than the coconut oil.

BTW, I've cooked salmon in a skillet using coconut oil and it gave it a light sweet flavor that was delicious. That's just another way to sneak it into your diet.

OH, you can also mix it with beeswax, glycerin, and a dab of baby oil for the most awesome hand treatment.

I love coconut oil. I just mix in a little cinnamon, which also helps control blood sugar, and eat it with a spoon. I don't like to fry with it, but do use it in baked goods like flax crackers.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

I'm happy to hear all this about the coconut oil. I've been cutting fat in other places so to use it. So far all I take is 2 TBLS a day. I'd love to take 3 but it will come.
Cooking it with the Salmon sounds awesome. I'm going to try that for sure.
But one thing I do know is the busrt of energy is definitely there.

I have seen it on supermarket shelves along with the olive oils and such. You should have no problem finding it, but look for a jar, not a bottle. It will look like a white solid, but it melts if it gets just a bit warm.

Your Coconut Oil is sweet?? Mine is nearly tasteless, definitely not sweet. Better make sure it doesn't have any sugar added to it.

I've also noticed it does seem to give me energy. I'll actually start to feel warm (like when you've just ran up the stairs or something like that) about 20-30 minutes after eating it.

I mixed some with cream cheese yesterday, it was pretty good.

I use coconut oil when I'm frying something like cabbage and it tastes so good. I grew up in the South Pacific and we lived on that stuff

I apply coconut oil for my hair massage and for my daughter too. But in my kitchen I never use it.

Hair massage? Sounds interesting. I've read that it is good for skin too.
I have a jar from Nutiva and it has a very coconuty taste. I like to use it in some of my smoothies now in the summer (fruit, ice,) as it adds some fat and a coconutty taste.

Because I am a huge chocolate fat I do make coconut bark once in a while.
