    Hi there!
    Can anyone who has follwed OWL tell me if this will be ok please! I am on my first week of OWL, what i have decided to do is have 25g carbs(5g Rung 1) 4 days a week and 30g carbs(5g from Rung 2)the other 3 days.

    I have been having great difficulty in working out carbs when moving up rungs,everybody has been so helpful in explaining it to me.

    So what do you think about the above? I am going to keep on Rung 2 for at least 3 weeks and try one new thing per week.

    I am a bit confused as to which week of OWL you are on at the moment. You say you are on the first week and so should only be adding rung one foods at the moment, not rung 2 foods.

    Did you manage to eat 20 net carbs on induction? If so you should be adding 5 net carbs of veg to your usual induction 3 cups of veg each day for the first week of OWL, making a net carb count of 25 each day. If you only ate for example 15 net carbs on induction then your rung one total should be 20.

    If you are adding a new veg that you weren't eating on induction then you only add them 3 times in the week, adding 5 net carbs of the veg you were eating before on the other days.

    If all is well in the week and there are no other veg which you didnt eat on induction that you want to test then you can move to the next rung the next week.

      Hi Elizellen! I did induction at 20g carbs per day,i then moved onto Rung 1;total of 25g carbs(5g extra veg rung 1).
      I have now moved onto Rung 2. I am having the above 25g carbs 3 days a week then the other 4 days i am adding the 5g dairy(Rung 2) .

      Basically doing Rung 1:25g carbs 4 days per week and Rung 2:30g carbs other 3 days per week.

      I wondered if it was ok to have 25g Rung 1 for 4 days and the other 3 days try out Rung 2 with 30g carbs.

      Sorry i make this sound complicated, just finding OWL difficult to grasp.

        Once you move to 30 carbs - eat that every day but on the days when you are not eating dairy - try to increase your vegetables to make up those 30 (that is super healthy eating when we start to increase our vegetable carbs that much)

        Another thing is that once you are on rung 2 - you are on rung 2 even if you don't eat dairy every day. I am on rung 9 and I may not eat those grain products everyday but I am still on rung 9. It is just easier to think about it that way. Less confusing I think.

          Thanks Liv for that reply...think i understand now. So i eat 30g carbs every single day...extra veg to make it up to 30g...and eat dairy 3 times per week to make up to 30g carbs daily.

          What happens when i move to Rung 3, do i have 35g;made up of rung 1 and 2 and then nuts 3 times a week...keeping it a total of 35g.

          How did you start doing OWL when you started out,how did you climb the Rungs?

            You explained that well. I have always had a hard time *getting* OWL!
