  • i think im gaining weight...........huh??

    I have completed a clean 3 week induction and moved onto OWL rung 1 on monday and i think im gaining weight, i have taken some before and after pics wgich i compared tonight and im devestated as i look bigger than i did before i started.....the scales say i have increased by 2lb so far and its really getting me down now....i was flying high when i first started but now im not......
    I exercise regularly, i gym, jog, cycle and also kickbox so i get a nice variety...... i wouldnt mind the scales if the inches were going but they arnt....
    Yes i did lose in the first week but since then i have lost 1lb in 2 weeks ( which is now -1lb!)

    Should i go back to induction ?? The reason i moved on was cos i was getting bored but maybe i need to grin and bear it.............

    Any advice would be welcome

    Hey girl! Going back to induction probably isn't the answer, especially if you were bored with the food selection. I have found I have to have ridiculous patience and do everything right for a really long time and then whoosh...several pounds leave together!! Have you always exercised like you are now or is that a new venture for your body? If it's a new thing, your muscles are likely holding onto water. That's very common and eventually goes away. Have you posted your menus anywhere? That often helps others give you really good advice too! Hang in there!! You really are doing fine!

      I have always exercised so thats not really new.......i just dont understand it!!! its sooo frustrating, staying the same is bad enough buta gain just really knocks my confidence.
      I will stick at it just because im too stubborm not to and dont like to be beaten by anything but if i end up back where i started i will be gutted!

        Those 2 lbs could have been caused by anything. 2 lbs of fat are 7000 calories. From Monday 'till yesterday you gained 2, so for those to be fat, you should have eaten every day about 1400 calories above what you burned. I doubt you did.

        You still have a net loss of 1 lb, so there is no reason why you would appear "bigger" in pictures. Or smaller, for that matter...

        All/Most of those 2 lbs you've gained are water and they could have been caused by many things... salt (are you eating processed food?), TOM or other mysterious hormonal changes. How much water are you drinking? Increasing your water intake will help with water retention.

          I drink about 3 litres a day of water, no processed food at all......its a mystery but i will keep at it!
