  • same foods?

I tend to eat the same type of meals everyday just due to the fact I make large batches of food on the weekends. For example, eggs for breakfast, lunch has consistently been chicken with veggies (for the past 2 weeks I added in a new veggie like mushrooms or cabbage or zucchini)., dinner I pick at what's in the fridge (all legal snacks). On occasion I've added in horseradish to see if it would help (haven't seen much yet).

Would this be detrimental or would it help more if I changed it more frequently? I haven't lost any weight since getting ontothe first rung OWL and its been 2 weeks. I am still working out/being active fairly consistently, but I'm not sure if I should stay on the first rung or move up to the dairy (which I want to do since I love dairy products).

    Thanks in advance

I don't think the lack of variety is the issue. More likely you are suffering from Post Induction Stall Symdrome (there is a great thread on this in the stickies) Your body is recognizing that you are sticking with this WOE and it takes a couple of weeks for it to sort itself out and start losing again. Stay off the scale for 2 to 3 weeks and concentrate on doing everything right and it will pass.

I do find I lose faster in weeks I eat more fish so if you are wanting to shake things up add more tuna or salmon to your diet. If you don't want to cook, even smoked salmon on a salad is a great and easy way to go.

Ok, I'll definitely try the fish route. Should I stick to the veggies rung as well? I've been pretty good about the scales, at the most I only had checked once in the past week and a half.

Well, if you stick to the veggie rung, then at least if you are not losing you know it isn't because of a new food you have introduced. As soon as the scale starts to move then start up the rings. Also sometimes changing up your exercise will get things going again too.

hi skoops.i.daisy -- how much water are you drinking each day? I mean pure water, nothing added? Dr. Atkins said you need AT LEAST 64 ounces a day. If you change the foods you are eating a little and are still exercising and you are drinking enough water I'd agree with Jill that you may just be experiencing the PISS stall. Whenever I start looosing a little more slowly than normal I add in more water and talk a longer walk, or bike a little further. Good luck

I'm definitely drinking a ton of water, more than the 64 oz through the day, maybe close to 70-80 oz? I never drink soda or anything with sugar (juices/sports drinks), nor do I drink coffee/tea. It definitely seems like I'm in the PISS stall (which I did read about prior to my posting but I wasn't sure if my meals' lack of variety had to do anything). Plus its my TOM so I'm sure that doesn't help much...
