  • On to Rung 2

    Hi,

I completed my Rung 1 and after 5 days I didnt see a loss on the scale. Wasnt too worried since I had restarted the exercises that I had abandoned in the Induction period what with the Flu and TOM. Well the 6th morning I saw a 1lb loss and the 7th a 1.6lb total loss...so I am happy.

So up the rung I go since I dont have anymore vegs I'd like to add now. Also I guess Rung 2 will be a week for me too since the only dairy I care to add that my body can tolerate is milk...I have never been able to tolerate yogurt (I know...I must be wired wrong)...but who knows I may just give it a try again if I am brave enough.

Hope you are all doing great and have happy weekends

I, too am going to start rung 2 now. I lost 2.2 pounds on rung 1 but i was on it for ten days. The first week I added eggplant and the second week I added green beans.

Now Im gonna add yogurt and/or milk and there is something here in the gulf that is like milk but its thicker and sour and isnt salty its a drink like milk and is a dairy product...i dunno what you would call it but i love it. I hate cottage and ricotta cheese. I dunno what else I would wanna add so I guess here goes.........

I wish us both good weight loss!

Good for both of you advancing through OWL.

Marlieben, about the yogurt, I found out I can only eat certain types of yogurt and certain brands. We have ~10 brands of yogurt at the supermarket nearby and only two of the ~5 I've tried don't stall me. So it's sometimes worth playing with different brands. Also, if you cannot tolerate yogurt eaten as such, you might still want to try it in recipes.

whereami I wish you the best on this way of life too. I had some milk yesterday and so far so good, except I never realized 5 gram carb in milk was so little...lol. Good thing I wasnt a milk addict before. I now dread how I will fare on the nut rung, cause those things are addictive and I am sure 5 grams wont be a lot. Anyway I will worry about that when it comes.

Georgiana I have tried so many times to like yogurt and I just cant seem to get it past my throat..lol. My sisters have tried introducing me to various types and its like my body cringes just for it to come close to my lips. It even creeps me out to see someone else eating it...(I used to have to give it to my little niece and just watching her enjoy it and scraping the last of it from the little tub took so much effort from me to supervise her..lol). I like your suggestion of incorporating it in recipes so I will look into that and see if any of those recipes interest me. One of my main problems from I was a child was that I hated all dressings/ sauces etc that are creamy and I hate thick creamy/ milky drinks...always had to water the drinks down...cant drink them creamy. Its the same way I dont like soft ice-cream...has to be rock hard when I start eating it.

Ten weeks I believe. I am moving very slowly through OWL and trying as many brands and foods as I can. I hope it will save me some trouble in the future.

This is how I do things. I add a new food one week, then if my weight/measurements don't shift I try that food for another week to make sure it's the food that's causing me problems and I don't just have a pause in my weight loss. So I needed 6 weeks for the 3 brands that stalled me, 2 weeks for the other 2 I can eat, and another two weeks it was TOM, so I didn't add anything then.

Wow...I wish I had your patience, but with my lack of love for yogurt its no wonder I dont have it....I will be doing a longer nut rung though, especially considering I wont be doing an alcohol rung and may be doing a short fruit rung. I dont have access to a lot of berries so not sure how long that will take. On a whole I think I always had problems with a number of fruits. Though I know its natural sugars I always have cravings when I eat sweet fruits, and I dont eat melon but I will be willing to try anything when I reach that stage. Looking forward to it even.
