  • OWL Rung 3 where to go from here!

    Hi! Thanks for reading. I started OWL Rung 3 about 2 weeks ago. I put on 1 1/2 lbs in one week of eating nuts..so i decided to skip nuts this week and what do you know i am down 2 lbs and its TOM any day now also.
    However, as i explained in my last thread on the same week as eating nuts i had Corned Beef with Sugar and also Bisto Powder with starch, although counted.
    My main question is; do i skip nuts or try this week to have some 3 times and see if i gain? I tried Cashew nuts last time, i have pistacios in the cupboard, what do you think?

    Anyone else have problems with nuts? i have stayed the same or lost every week since starting except the week i ate nuts.

    Any advice on this greatly appreciated.

    I would try nuts again. Many people find that nuts are an issue as far as portion control. I count my almonds out & put them in a snack baggie & this helps me.

      i suck at portion control i had to end up staying at Rung 2 and around 25-30 net carbs the entire 100 pounds i lost

      cause when ever i ate nuts or berries i would stall

      and that was with 12-15 hours of walking a week


      but now i cut that walking in half and then i moved to Rung 4 and at 230 pounds whent to the gym and must have lost another 40 pounds of fat and gained 40 pounds of muscle so im still 230 pounds but look ALOT better

      so doing exercise and heavy lifting that works all your muscles and not just cardio can help alot and can prob make you climb the Rungs easyer

        There are also seeds on that rung. Seeds are very nutritious foods.

        Remember that there is a limit on nuts. Cashews - you can only have 9 of them a day.

        Are you still keeping your carbs up? How many carbs are you having now?

        I would also give it another try. Maybe other nuts or seeds.
        Like Glenda I portion out my nuts in the morning and try to limit myself to those. I only eat almonds because the rest of them cause cravings for me. But I also like seeds.

          I stick to only almonds and sunflower seeds -- cashews cause me to crave sweets and you can only have a very few of them....you can have 28 almonds (I usually have 14 because I'm full after that many) and you can have 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds -- that is a lot of chewing!!!
