  • Whew...finally back to losing

I started on April 16 and completed a clean induction then moved to OWL . Did rung 1 & 2 while still losing, then went to rung 3 and messed up a bit.

I started out with some macadamia nuts with no problems, then went on to peanuts . (I didnt know peanuts were not to be had at this rung anymore because my book on page 174 stated peanuts). Anyway I wont blame the poor peanuts alone for me gaining...I think I messed up a bit with the portion and somehow the salt (which is the main reason I eat peanuts because I am not a big fan of them). Having these around TOM just did a number on me with the water retention and I went up on the scale and stayed there even while increasing my fluid intake...I was already having 3.5 litres a day. My exercises continued and even increased. That didnt help. I even considered getting some diuretics to help out but good thing I am afraid of the effects of pills so I didnt.

Well, finally I decided to do one of the things that I always see being recommended for people who stall here on ADBB...I lapped my tail and went back down a rung. I was vexed as heck that I had to do that but I had no choice. Well it was a hard road back but finally I can say I lost the weight I regained and for 4 days running now I have been at my lowest since starting...which is 0.6 lbs less than I was when I messed up weeks ago but I'll take it. I think I have regained my footing on rung 3 (with my almonds and pistachio...no more peanuts) and look forward to moving to rung 4. I am not sure when yet because I first have to source those berries...I wish I lived where they are plentiful because I so love strawberries especially.

Sorry for the rambling. Wish you all a great and on plan weekend.

You're doing great!! Good for you for figuring out the problem with the peanuts. I bought one jar of them on this go around and also didn't realize they weren't allowed on rung 3. I was even more offended when I read the label and it said corn starch in the ingredients list. Yick!!!

Point is...you got the lesson!! That's what it's all about. Never be afraid to fall back a rung or phase if that's what you need to do! I've had to do it. I think most of us have. The positive is you know when your body needs you to!

Good for you for not giving up and figuring out the problem. I cannot eat nuts except almonds because I have big portion control issues.

I have the same issue with berries so be forewarned. You can probably do chayote squash with cinnamon and Splenda to put on your yogurt. Some places call it cho-cho. I love it and it has a lower carb count than berries. I just posted a recipe in the dessert section of the Recipes forum.

Do they carry frozen strawberries in packages where you live? I mix them with my yogurt for a smoothie...

          Thanks all...
I have to resort to the frozen strawberries, but unfortunately I cannot tolerate yogurt.

Poor you You will just have to 'make do' with thick cream instead
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
