  • MY OWL Menu for today???

    Does this look right??

    OK well I had pancake for breakfast(2 eggs,1 tbsp of heavy whipping cream,10 drops of stevia,1/8 tsp of cinnamon and 1/8 tsp of nutmeg.( i forgot to put the 1/2 ounce of crushed pork skins in..still tasted great)Fried in 1 tbsp of butter and served with 2 TBSP of Waldens pancake syrup and 1 Tbsp of butter,then for lunch will be my 2 cup jicama,celery and radish salad for lunch with a 1 TBSP of Mayo, 1 TBSP of ranch dressing(1 carb for 2 tbsp) and 1 tsp of horseradish. For supper I will have a 6.3oz cooked porkchop fried in 2 tbsp of butter and seasoned with pepper and NOsalt, I cup of broccoli and a small salad equaling 5 carbs...(lettuce,tomato,celery and radishes)

    Of course I will have a minimum of 144 oz of water which is my normal amount for a day, usually a few cups more but never less.

    I would probably find your breakfast a bit sweet. I am not that familiar with stevia - how many servings of sweetener is 10 drops? Then you add pancake syrup (with splenda) So it looks like your sweetener ration for the day is done with.
    But that would be me. If you do not get cravings and still lose, it may work for you.

    You had no proteins for lunch?

    Supper looks good to me.

    I think you are on the right track with the veggies. So what you need to find out now is how many carbs you are having in total
    Do you use FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal or something similar?

        Good - keep an eye on the carbs - so you know that when this week is over you can add five more carbs (and bring your net to 22) - either by eating more veggies or by adding some dairy carb.
        Good job.
        Don't skimp on your fat and protein - this is not a calorie counting diet.

          My fat for today is 65% carb 7% and protein is 26%
          I have no idea why these never come out to 100% the other 2% must be something not counted ???

            If that few carbs equals 7% of your daily calorie intake you may be on the low side on calories. Yes the fitday thing rounds things - it just ends up that way some days.

              My calorie count yesterday was 1430 total,
              OH yeah I took the sweetener out of my pancake today since I am using Walden pancake syrup as you suggested.
              Stevia
              What is Stevia?

              here is one link to Stevia...

                Re: MY OWL Menu for today???

                I kind of know what it is - I just do not know the sweetness factor of it - if you told me you added 1 tsp of splenda I would know how sweet that was. When you say 10 drops of stevia - I am not sure
                1430 calories is on the low side. Do not be afraid to eat.

                  Re: MY OWL Menu for today???

                  lOL not afaraid to eat just not hungry in this heat..I am not sure what the factor of sweetness is for this..it is from the stevia plant and it calls for 5-10 drops, this is what the internet says about it..
                  Some of stevia’s benefits include
                  no calories;
                  natural, not chemically manufactured;
                  250-300 times sweeter than sugar, so very little is needed;
                  stable to 200°C (392°F);
                  does not ferment;
                  has plaque-retardant properties that prevent cavities ;
                  has no impact on blood sugar, therefore safe for diabetics;
                  non-toxic.

                  Because of its carbohydrate content, stevia is able to regulate blood sugar and reduce the cravings for sweets or fatty foods. Using a few drops before a meal will reduce hunger. Stevia does not promote fungal growth, therefore is a safe sweetener to use during Candidiasis outbreaks. It is also safe to use during pregnancy and for children.

                    Sounds good.
                    I have looked at stevia - and I think one they I will try it as a sweetener. I am intrigued with the fact that it is a natural sweetener.

                    So how is it going? Still working all the veggies in and feeling good?

                      Re: MY OWL Menu for today???

                      I feel fantastic. I can't believe how much energy I have although not putting it to a lot of use today..way to hot.
                      I am having a hard time getting all the calories in that I am suppose to though while maintaining my carb count.
                      I guess I need some higher calorie foods but still low carb...
                      You have been a great help to me making this transition to OWL and I wanted to say thank you. I have never made it this far before as I tended to stay on Induction then go completly off Plan altogether..
