  • Advice needed please

    Hello

    Im taking the kids out tomorrow on a day trip to the beach. Im going to need to pack some food for me to eat, as i know i will not be able to eat what the kids will want (mcdonalds!!) I plan to start the berry rung tomorrow so i will take a small tub of raspberries, and i have a small bag of almonds. But i dont know what else to take to eat!

    I would be grateful for any ideas, days out away from the comfort of my own fridge and cupboards are a real challenge for me!

    Do you have a small cooler or one of those soft cooler bags? Those are very helpful for staying on plan when away from home.

    I live right on the coast so beaching is a frequent thing for me. Besides your berries and nuts some things that I pack are:

    • cold, cooked chicken legs (easy to eat and lots of good protein. The kids might like them too)
    • string cheese (these are individually wrapped and great for toting around...kids like them too)
    • a baggie of raw veggies like celery sticks, different colored bell pepper strips, zucchini (courgette) sticks, radish slices, etc.

    Also, if you end up at McDonald's with the kids you could get a salad. The grilled chicken salad or grilled chicken & bacon salad would be good choices while the kids get their things.

    That's all I can think of right now. Have a fun day at the beach tomorrow!

      Thanks so much for the reply.
      The chicken legs are a great idea, and i just took a load out the freezer this morning for dinner tonite. I will cook extra to take with us tomorrow. I have some mini babybel cheese to take as well.
      I didnt even think about the salads in mcdonalds, if im still hungry i will get a chicken and bacon!

        If Macdonalds ends up being a family choice I usually bring some revolution rolls and have a burger using them. Have fun.
