  • Owl out of ketosis?

I am a little worried about ketosis since starting owl. I know I am still in ketoisis because I can just tell by the way I feel, but the keto strips either are reading negative or trace ketones. When I was in induction and only eating 20 carbs a day they read trace most of the time since I was drinking tons of water. Int he morning though they would be slightly darker. Now that I am owl they barely read trace like I said. They only thing I have changes in my diet is the addition of more cauliflower and at about 25-27 carbs a day. (Thank you for whoever posted the awsome cauliflower pizza crust) I am still of course drinking tons of water and excercising. I feel like I have more energy than in induction and I still do not have hunger or cravings. So basically all signs point to ketosis except the strips. I feel like I won't be losing weight if I am not in ketosis. Is this a commin thing and shoudl I be worried or not?

Ketosis strips are kind of meaningless (there I said it) What happens on the scale is what you should go by. And inches. Sometimes inches happens and nothing on the scale. Good work on the cauliflower (but watch out for the excess cheese in those lovely pizza crusts )

I think I covered some of your questions in your other post about what to do if you get out of ketosis.

Ketosis strips are a waste of money.

I've never tried ketostix. I could always tell I was in ketosis by the taste in my mouth and my breath. OK, this is weird but you know how your own bad breath (garlic, onions or whatever) doesn't really smell bad to YOU but knocks other people over? I wonder what my keto breath is like to others who happen to be in close proximity to me?? Mr. Ski won't say anything because he is a nice man. I've kind of been self-conscious about my keto breath and avoid getting too close to people when I'm talking to them. Yeah, I know chewing parsley helps but sticking leaves in my mouth every time I'm close to someone is anything but subtle.

Oh, and I don't know if this happens to anyone else but I tend to feel colder when in ketosis which is pretty amazing for a chubby woman with hot flashes.
