  • Faster Weight Loss

Well right now I am at rung 7 and eating mostly from rung 1 -3. I strangely have no deisre to go to a higher rung. I guess I will start missing wheat stuff (probably mostly cookies) but for the most part it still grosses me out.

I want to hasten my weight loss a bit. I'll be taking an 11 hour flight at the end of January and really want to lose at least 50 pounds by then. I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to go down carb wise to a lower rung again. I'm not sure I am losing optimally at this rung. I like it here and I am losing. I just cant bear the thought of sitting in a cramped airline seat for 11 hours with 50 extra pounds.

I guess I just want everyones (anyones!) thoughts on this. Should I go back to induction for awhile? Should I go back a rung or few?

Can't you lower your carbs but stay in the same rung? Not sure what your daily carb average is but that would mean not having some items daily or on the same day to lower your carb count and still have the options open to have those items.

Geez, I didn't explain that very well. Sorry about that.

When I eat less carbs I stop loosing weight -- this took quite a while to sink into my brain. You may be different but I know I can't do it.

I understand what you mean and you are probably right. I think it gets to be more of a matter of portion control with the higher carb items.

I'm at 55 grams of carbs a day and losing okay (I dont weigh myself, so all of that is visually speaking).

This is what I was concerned about and I am losing.... I dont want to mess up a good thing, but if I can speed it up a little I'd be thrilled about it

I don't know what your current exercise schedule is, but could you ramp it up a notch or two? An extra session a week, or 10 minutes extra every time...

50 lbs in 5ish months seems like a lot, I would ask how much you've been losing per week/month on average and if it has slowed as you have climbed the rungs...but since you aren't weighing, that isn't practical. On the up-side, you won't know if you've lost 40 or 50 or 60 come January anyway I think it is safe to say that if you stay on plan, you will be more comfortable on the flight than you would be if you didn't Good Luck.

Pink, even after progressing through all of the rungs and being in Maintenance, I still have to eat mainly at Rung 1 just to maintain my weight. (I've got a butt-load of trigger foods) But as long as most of my carbs come from veggies, I can eat up to 35g net carbs and still lose weight as well as at 20g. Of course, each of us is unique... but I'm thinking that maybe you can keep most of your carbs, and just eat from the lower rungs (mainly veggies). Do a little experimenting, and see what works for you. No way would I go back to Induction.

Yeah thats definitely one of the pluses of weighing. I am hoping for a size 12 by that time. My tush fits okay in the seat at that size lol

I think I'm going to try that. It seems like when I eat mostly veggies for carbs that I feel the most full after eating also.

And I definitely need to get the physical activity up.
