  • i've gained 5 lbs!?!??

Not sure what the reason was... but the week i started OWL i've gained weight!!! I'm frustrated bc i know it could be a few different things....

one... my scale battery died, so i bought a new scale. now i'm wondering if it was reading accurately with a dying battery....

two...i've been casually and lightly salting foods...and i shouldn't be! so i've stopped.

three...i've been having more splenda than i did on induction. so i've cut out the splenda.

four...i was walking every morning or afternoon with my boys. but this past week my husband was on vacation so we've been going out and visiting family, shopping etc... so i havn't walked. oh and it's been raining almost every day!!!! grrrr

five...i've added pumpkin....and i doubt the pumpkin is what caused any weight gain (if i truely did gain weight-who knows-stupid scale battery!!)

All i know is now i am going to be even more careful, drink at least 100oz of water, stop salting, no more splenda, walks every afternoon, and just see how this week goes... okay i'm done ranting....thanks for listening!!! wish me luck!!

I bet it's just the scale and you didn't actually gain 5 lbs... or at least not 5 lbs of fat. How did your measurements change?

If you prefer foods with a bit of salt, I'd leave the salt in for another week.

Thanks Georgiana. I can do with out salt, but i've been seeing salt in a lot of recipes and figured i should give it a try...but i think i can do with out i like pepper more than salt!

Since starting OWL my waist has gone down 1 inch. and the biggest part of my tummy 1/2 an inch....so i guess i should rely more on the measurements...

        Congrats for getting smaller!

Scales are evil. I find going by inches and by the way my clothes fit far better.

Thanks I guess i am so used to relying on scales...i weigh myself almost every day (except for when the scale died!) but i don't take the number to heart, it's just habit.

I'll def. start relying on the measuring tape more--i know it can't lie to me

Just a tip on the salt thing....

Since I've switched completely to sea salt, I found that I don't have the water retention problems. You also don't need to use as much as regular table salt.

Good luck - we all have our issues with the dreaded scale monster!!!!
