  • Sigh. I know weight loss is not linear, but...

I'm frustrated. And I know it's just me.

Started induction on 9/9/09 and lost 17 lbs in the 14 days. Since I went on rung 1, I've only lost 7-8 lbs in the last (nearly) two weeks. Up and down every few days with the same 2 lbs then a drop of 1 lb...it's like two steps forward, one step back.

I'm waiting for the woosh fairy!

And I'm sorry to be all "WAAA" because I know that my weightloss has been great and there are others who are struggling more than me, but I just had to vent.

Lastly, I need some benefiber. I count those carbs against my total, right?

    Thanks all for your support.

it is frustrating, but be patient. Look at your foods, make sure you're drinking your water, get in some good movement, I'm sure things will start happening again.

Not sure about the benefiber - I don't take anything. I just 'sit' longer I go to the bathroom every morning around 6am, sometimes thinking nothing will happen...but if I sit there long enough, it usually does...I do soduko :wink

Sometimes when I come out, my husband will say 'everything ok??' - and I just smile and say - "it was a 2 soduko day"!

    Good luck!

      Hey there SMKelly
Hang in there, and maybe try staying off the scale and only weighing once a week or every two weeks...then you won't have to deal with the anxiety of the scale going up and down every day. That just adds stress, and when you are stressed they say it is harder to lose.

I think 8 pounds in two weeks is freakin' awesome! Be happy!

My weight never goes straight down either - it goes down, then immediately back up a pound or two, up and down up and down, just till I am about to get aggravated, then it drops down several pounds over a few days, then a pound for another day or two, and then starts the up and down thing again. I keep fiddling around with cutting out or cutting down on this and that, and it does seem to help, just hard to ALWAYS follow all the things I seem to have found that slow things down - more water, less salt, less cheese, less cream, etc etc.

But, if you keep plugging away with it, it does come off in due time.

I would SO take 8 pounds in two weeks though, LOL! I'm happy if I lose 10 pounds per month, as I think most folks around here would be.

Re: Sigh. I know weight loss is not linear, but...

Are you losing inches? Dr. Atkins wrote that the loss of inches was a better indicator of fat loss than loss on the scale.

Besides, unless you carry a sign around that says "Today I weigh ____ pounds." No one will know your weight, but they WILL see that you look smaller and fit into your clothes better.

I kept my favorite outfit from my pre-Atkins days. Whenever I didn't feel like I was progressing on my loss, I used to put them on to prove to ME that I was losing weight. It's a powerful reality check----especially that day I found I could fit my entire body into one leg of my pre-atkins pants.

No sympathy here. It took me 4 months to lose 17 pounds. I think you are doing great. It doesn't melt off overnight. Have patience. You can't expect to continue at Induction pace.
