Low Carb Luxury Store: Baking Mixes

What do you guys think about them? Which rung would they be considered to be on? Has anyone tried them?

    Thank you!

    Re: Low-Carb Bake Mixes

Anything you eat on OWL depends on if it is appropriate for your Rung. For example, if something contains broccoli, almonds and pinto beans, it won't be appropriate until the legume rung.

I haven't used any bake mixes because I don't eat anything in my Pre-Maintenance menu that needs them.

A lot of those are products that Dixie Diner sells. I ordered some of them pre-Atkins but ended up throwing them out as they were mostly soy. IMNSHO, these items are really best left for Maintenance or maybe pre-Maintenance. Even then, having cake and cookies should be a rare treat and not a regular food item.

        Re: Low-Carb Bake Mixes

They will probably contain some ingredients that are only allowed on rung 9 (like wheat germ, whole wheat, gluten) I do not buy any either but I do bake sometimes I make my own mixes using a variety of flours. (Soy, wheat gluten, brans, nut flours)
        That works for me.
On rung 3 you can bake using a combination of nuts and flaxes.
