    Hello,
I'm thinking about moving into OWL, some of you recommended that since I only have a goal of losing 20 pounds and didn't lose anything in induction. That was frustrating!
I have the book, but I'm a bit confused. On rung 1, I know I add 5 carbs of veggies. Can I still eat the same amount of other stuff? I noticed that rung 2 has dairy and mentions eating smaller amounts of hard cheeses which were ok in induction (4 oz or less). Basically, do I change anything other than adding veggies?
    Thanks for any help.

    Yes.

And remember ... it's NET carbs.

    >> noticed that rung 2 has dairy and mentions eating smaller amounts of hard cheeses which were ok in induction (4 oz or less)>>

That can work ... for example, if you add cottage cheese, you may not want to eat as much other cheese as you did on Induction. Many find that a 3-4 ounce limit even on OWL works out well. Not everyone wants to eat MORE cheese!

    >>do I change anything other than adding veggies?>>

    Not really on rung 1.

    Hope that helps.

Rung One is essentially the same as Induction with the extra 5 grams of carbs. When you move to Rung Two, you can start adding new foods in the dairy choices. Add one at a time, and note your body's response to foods.

I know it doesn't sound like you are changing much, but sometimes the extra veggies do the trick.

I can't remember from your other post--are you exercising daily?

Yes, I am exercising at least 5 days a week. I used to run about 5 miles a day prior to starting Atkins but now my energy is lacking still. Never got that boost. My appetite has definitely decreased though. I'm hoping OWL does the trick, still at same weight give or take a pound.

          Maybe you're not eating enough?

I think I'm eating enough but I'll try adding some more snacks in. I'm just not really hungry- should I eat even when I'm not hungry?
            Today I had:
            2 eggs w/ pat of butter, 1 sausage (1 carb-all natural)
            1/2 slice of cheddar cheese
2 cups coffee 2 tbs. light cream

            2 cups romaine lettuce
            3 slices of cucumber
            1/2 mushroom
chicken leftover cut up into salad
            sprinkle of parmesan cheese
            blue cheese dressing, 1 tbs.

70 oz of water so far.......I'll probably drink another 30 by the end of the day.

Dinner will be salmon and some veggies.

            Sound ok?

One of the side effects of ketosis is loss of appetite.

You might want to put your food into FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal and see how many net carbs and calories you're getting.

It sounds as if you're eating enough.
