Re: Are carrot's ok?
As J said, carrots are on the higher OWL veg rung.
I know it won't taste the same but there are a couple of similar 'feel' vegetables that are allowed on induction and OWL rung 1 - turnips and celeriac (celery root).Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Re: Are carrots ok?
You need to read Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002)? The OWL phase, including the Carbohydrate Ladder, is explained there.Originally posted by RhodeIslander View PostI want to up my carb's 5 gram's and was wondering if .05 cup of fresh boiled carrot's would be ok? Thank's
Not a substitute for the book, but this sticky thread might help: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...te-ladder.html"Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: Are carrot's ok?
Please read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 ed. There's more to OWL phase than just adding 5 net carbs of this or 5 net carbs of that willy-nilly.

Re: Are carrot's ok?
Welcome to OWL
It is a wonderful place to be.
On OWL we start slow with the safe stuff before we get into adding starcy stuff like carrots and potatoes or grains and rice.
It is not about 5 carb (just like induction was not about 20 carbs) it is about the nature and the quality of those carbs. Some carbs will affect us a lot and some are safe. It depends on how glycemic they are and how sensitive we are. So we start by adding 5 carbs from the list of veggies in teh book.
Have you tried pumpkin yet?
