  • Sushi rice

    Okay, so the meds I've been taking have made me really depressed, and Jacques is extra difficult. So tonight I caved and had about 1/2c sushi rice. Now what?? I haven't had time for lunch yet (it's dinner time already) DO I shove all the food I was supposed to eat down my gullet, or do I just have dinner as planned?

    I'm off my meds now, so I should start to feel better in a few days.

    Yes.

    However, you should journal why you "caved" ... and come up with a plan so that the next time you're feeling this way, you have a different response.

      I would suggest if rice is going to be a problem to not keep it handy to eat. When I started I took everything not on the acceptable food list out of the refrigerator so there was nothing to tempt me. Now when my husband and mother have leftovers they put them on a specific shelf and I don't go near it.

      Don't beat yourself up about today - eat your dinner as planned, get up in the morning and go forward.....get rid of the sushi rice! Good luck

        Hope you start to feel better soon.
        Think about how you may want to handle this another time. There will always be another time.
        Have you tried cauliflower "rice" - it is one of my family's favourite.

          Thanks guys!

          I'm feeling better already. Darn Concerta! Good thing I have an appointment with the dr on Monday to try something else for the ADHD.

          I climbed on the scale this morning and was surprised to see that I lost another pound, but if memory serves me right, I think I read somewhere that what you eat today only reflects on the scales in a few days.

          Usually I'm fine with having rice and bread and stuff around the house (the kids and Eugene still eats it - in moderation), even cupcakes doesn't bother me. I think yesterday was just an emotional day with no time to make lunch, not feeling like it, and just wanting to curl up in a ball and feeling sorry for myself.

          Today is going to be super! My little boy and I are going to bake cupcakes, cake, banana bread and cookies! I LOVE baking. Always makes me feel good. I'll keep a few of the things we make for my family, but the rest will have to find another home. DOn't want my kids hyped up on sugar all day long either!
