  • Checkpoint!

Okay you all know it's time for another weigh in. I have to admit I was certainly nervous about today's weigh in, because by and large I felt like I didn't really lose much of anything over the past few weeks. This is due in part by the fact that for about two weeks, I hardly got any exercise in, and we all know how important exercise is on Atkins.

Thanksgiving went really well. I stuck to eating turkey and other vegetables not laden with "crusts" or potatoes. So, I'm proud of myself for that. As I mentioned before, my family is extremely supportive and were instrumental in making sure there was food that I could actually eat.

So, on to the weigh in. It took everything in my power not to weigh in before my actual weigh in date. I was so curious as to what progress had been made, simply because I felt like nothing had happened and I was surely to stall this time around. The bad news is, I'm still not a size 34. The good news is, I'm certainly on my way to being that magical size.

Today, I weighed in at 238 Lb. WHOA! Serously?? I lost 5 pounds since my last weigh in, despite my own self-image issues. This just goes to show that you are always making progress regardless of how you may feel about yourself. As long as you are sticking to "the plan", you have nothing to worry about even if you stall. I experienced a slight stall a while ago, but that's the reason I weigh myself in every 20 days instead of weekly. It's a psychological issue. I promise to make the 20 day strategy famous!

Anyway, thank you for reading. Love you much!

P.S. I titled this thread "Checkpoint" because I feel like I'm at the half-way point in my weight loss journey and I promised myself once I got under 240 Lb, I would work my butt off to shape up my body with higher intensity training. I have to admit, the workout I've been doing has gotten too easy and I'm finding myself having to put in two workouts per day, because I don't feel like I'm doing enough. I'll let you all know how that works out for me. My next weigh in is the day before Christmas and the best Christmas gift for me this year is a 10 Lb weight loss. LOL We'll see ...

      Re: Checkpoint!

Way to go! I am avoiding my scale right now. Like you, I don't feel I am progressing and if I get on the scale and see a gain, it will hurt. But I also know I can't fix any problems if I don't know if I am gaining, so I will weigh soon. The other thing for me is that I am getting closer to goal and I know my weight loss will (and has) slowed. At any rate, it has been a few weeks since I have weighed in now.

Keep up the good work! You are doing great.

Thank you! I've been exercising all along. It's just my workouts have gotten too easy. Half an hour isn't enough any longer and I am hardly out of breath. Even when walking for miles (which I tend to do living Downtown and all), I don't become breathless. I'm considering doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred to get over my boredom.

I'm definitely game! LOL I'm ready to do this .. we just need to make a schedule. Perhaps we should move this discussion to the Exercise forum and see how many people are willing to participate in the challenge?
