  • How many Calories?

    Hello all,

    I am looking under every rock to find out why I am not losing weight. This week I moved into OWL rung 1 and I will see what happens,

    But,

    How many calories do you think I should be consuming per day? I know Dr. Atkins says that we should not have to count calories, just eat til satisfied, but I want to look at all remedies.

    At 6'3 280 pounds, my BMR is 2650 kcals......What is your intake per day?

    Doesn't matter what anybody else's is.

    This is your journey!

    With your BMR at 2650, you should be eating at least that ... and 250 more shouldn't be a problem.

      feed your hunger and stop period. Your body will let you know when it needs more food by signalling you. some of those signals are tiredness, crankiness, irritability, feeling light headed or dizzy, fuzzy or confused thinking. I'm sure you will notice more as time goes on. When your body says feed me even with your suppressed appetite you need to give it some fats some protein and some of your carbs.

      Some days you will be eating very little and using Dr Atkins 6 hr rule to force yourself to eat and other days you will be hungry and eat a lot. the amount is right no matter how many cals IF you feed your hunger and stopped even if you had room in your belly food on your plate and/or carbs in your budget.

      learning to feed just our hunger is one of the hardest lessons for Atkinseers to learn but that is the key to becoming a life long goalie.
