Re: OWL Rung 2 - What to add?

Jax, I can find Fage in all of my grocery stores here but... it's not the full fat version. I can only find the full fat in Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. That said, I absolutely love it!!!

Whole Foods, I have one of those.

I lterally checked all the yogurts at publix and winn dixie, people were starring at me while i searched thru. And nothing was what I would consider low carb. Esp when it says fat free, new to stay away.

Anyway, I will stop by a whole foods. Going to the military base this weekend so I might check out what they have too.

      Thanks

dyjack....lol, i actually stay away from the commissary ground meats specifically. Everything is in that ground beef. Yuck. I wish it was better quality otherwise I would have stocked up weeks ago.

you can buy the low fat or fat free and add some cream to add back the fat. It doesn't take much added fat to make them back to OWL high fat moderate protein and low carb

On Fage's website there is a place you can type in your zipcode, how many miles you want to travel to a shop and which variety you are looking for. (Choose the ones with no percentage by the name which are the high-fat ones you need)
Store Locator | FAGE Total Authentic Greek Yogurt
See if any shops near you are listed then phone and ask them what they have in stock to save making a fruitless journey.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

And when you get this Fage Yogurt, what are you gonna do with it?

                Seriously, I'm looking for ideas.

                  use it in a curry
                  eat it from the container
make a veggie dip or a sauce for your meats
use it as a marinate for chicken, pork or beef

When you make a dip out of it, what spices do you add?

                    Same for marinades?

Re: OWL Rung 2 - What to add?

I used some green onions mixed with my yogurt and a little red pepper for a veggie dip. also pureeded roasted red pepper and garlic mixed with it

In the mainade the yogurt is the vinegar acid for the effect so i just use whatever flavors I was going to maninade with.
chicken it was thyme garlic or 5 spice and any other asian soy free stuff I wanted.
I sis a southwest one with cummin, chilipowder for both beef and chicken
lamb it was rosemary onion and garlic same for pork

and of course you can do a curry marinade for anything mixing the yogurt with some salt and curry powder.

and you can stir it into your cream of ___ soups as the thinkener insteads of cream or sour cream
