    you take your induction veggie lists an after figuring your 5 3 cups from induction you add 5 net grams of carbs more of any veggies from the list you want. you don't have to add 5 net carb grams of just one you could eat more peppers and onions and tomatoes as long the the new to you carb addition doesn't exceed 5 net.

    Also if you didn't try a veggie during induction you should not east the new to you veggie more then 3 times the first week you have it so you can control any issues it gives you if it does.

    it sounds complicated but it is easy.

    you can take as much time on a rung as you want and go as slowly up the rungs as you want. if you have lots of new to you veggies to try you could stay a long time. if you are in a hurry you could move after 7 days.

    One thing about OWL is it doesn't seem to like plans made about it so just take it day to day this week and on day 7 ask yourself if you are happy enough with the more veggies to move on and try fresh dairy or do you want to stay a little longer and test out more veggies in a controlled manner.

    and I know you have read me posting this over and over but take your measurements so on day 8 if the sclaes lie about the hard work you are doing you can see those inches of body fat that have been shed and know your atkins is still working for you.

      Well we debate it sometimes (I think we debate everything) but I think most veggies on the list are safe to just eat. But don't overdo one item

      Today I had cauliflower rice with my curried shrimp. It is one of my favourite things. I add onion, garlic, celery, ginger, a bit snap peas and I rice lightly steamed cauliflour (it is a lot like fried rice) My daughter just loves this dish.
      Keep going lady. It may be a bit confusing but it is not rocked science. Just try things out. I think you are so much on the right track here. I am liking it!!!!

        oh and now is the time to make some awesome legal veggie soups

        smothered okra, pumpkin curry, shoney's beef cabbage minus the beans till rung 6, and chicli with lots of onions and peppers.

          i think i will start with a tomato and use all the veggies i was using before during my induction to start. day 1 down, hoping for only 7 more

          and yes atkinsgal i understand it's my job (im not 4 years old) and i knew you weren't being a kind stranger helping me sweetie, ESPECIALLY me. how do i know what you wrote to me is accurate or try to sabbatoge my efforts? all i can use is my nutrition book from college as my resource or the internet or any other website anyone else has referred to me. but i think your information is accurate, so thanks, i copied some of your info in my own food database. although not all eggs are created equal.

          TRYING, TRYING, TRYING to do what's right for me. Therefore I posted this question until I get my book on Saturday and read up on it again.

          Got my game plan for the next few days, thanks for those who posted great recipe ideas I copied them for my OWL documents to refer to.

          Best wishes to everyone and THANK you for your recipes, I am not creative like that.

            and if you sit on rung 1 you can add another 5 net grams of those veggies if you really like veggies I can give you Fawn's recipe for a really green shake. LOL she has 6 cups of brocolli and kale in hers.

              JaxMama, if someone didn't want to help you, they would not have replied to you at all instead of going through the menu you posted. No one wants to sabotage your efforts by providing inaccurate information.

              You could eat more than 10 green beans for dinner if you're aiming for more veggie net carbs. Make sure it's net carbs you're counting.

                I'll assume you weren't being sarcastic and that you meant it in only the nicest way.

                You verify the carb counts I told you with the source I told you I used.

                That's why the USDA has various listings ... small, medium, large, jumbo. I assume your egg carton tells you what size egg they are.

                  Jaxmama, there is a stickie above dealing with adding veggies. That may be helpful to you.

                  Looking at your menu and considering what others have said, instead of a protein shake, why not have a 5 net carb serving of a creamy vegetable soup like mushroom or pumpkin or cauliflower? The soup will provide you with the carbs, fat (because these soups always taste better with a tablespoon of heavy cream or sour cream mixed in), and fiber.

                  Make red pepper sauce by pureeing cooked red sweet peppers in the blender (or do what I do and buy a jar of roasted red peppers---saves time ), that pepper sauce can be used as is (add some herbs and spices to it for extra kick), can be thinned with broth for a soup or soup base, can be added to a viniagrette for a salad dressing, can be added to a meatloaf, can be mixed with cream cheese for a dip. Same thing goes for any of the Induction veggies.

                  One of my FAVORITE foods is a veggie lasagna that uses either eggplant or zucchini or fresh pumpkin as the "noodles". I just slice the eggplant and zucchini and bake them to dry out the extra moisture. If you have fresh pumpkin, peel the pumpkin, remove the seeds and slice it. Then I layer the veggie slices with meat, tomato sauce and cheese. 5 net carbs worth of that is filling and contains the fat/protein/carbs and fiber that you need. Plus, it's just good for you (and delicious.)
