  • My Progress on OWL

This is just a message to all those who may have extended induction and are stalling. I was one who thought I would extend induction for a long while. However, I decided to at least give OWL a try before making that decision. Well, during my first week of OWL, I lost an additional 3 lbs. That's more than I lost on the 2 weeks of extended induction. So, keep an opened mind and at least give OWL a try. Dr. Atkins' set this WOE this way for a reason......because it works!!!!

    Good luck to all!!!!

      Re: My Progress on OWL

Very cool! You're right, sometimes OWL is the best way to keep the weight loss going - especially if you're very active and are getting bored with the food choices. OWL is really where you want to spend most of your time losing anyways. I find OWL to be very pleasant. The most pleasant eating plan I have ever been on. I think I did Nutrisystem for YEARS and still never got to my goal weight and when I got close, I couldn't hold it there for more than a month. It was a constant battle and I was so HUNGRY. The more active I was the more "carblust" backlash I got! With this WOE I can attain both my body fat goals AND my activity goals! For once all my activity is NOT making me gain weight due to out of control cravings - but after heavy training and during certain times of my monthly cycle I am still able to maintain control. My cravings are totally under control for the first time since I was a thin teenager. I feel like I have my life back and OWL is totally something I can do long term - forever if I have to though I won't have to. Maintaining my weight now feels like something that will actually be EASY. It was definitely not before I came to Atkins!

Keep it up and enjoy your journey.

            Good for you.

OWL is when the Atkins Diet individualizes for each person. It's a shame people think it and Pre-Maintenance can be skipped.
