  • Rung 2

Decided to move up to see what would happen. I was soooo hungry yesterday I ate close to 30 grams not 25. The scale went down to 140.80 so very close to where I was 11 days ago. My sticks are still positive. Finally at the end of my TOM so I am fairly confident that I am below 140 but my TOM water weight is masking it. I also put in about 200 more calories yesterday than I had been. If I don't see anymore change by Thursday I don't know what I will do. Start all over or revert to RUNG 1?

FYI- today all I added was a diabetic yogurt to my meal plan...still loading up on veggies.

you do know that shedding a pound with only 11 to go will be a 9% change for you so it is going to take a while to do so as that would be 13 pounds for somebody like me in the beginning. Keep checking your measurements and as long as you are not gaining or as you said yesterday having hunger issue which could be from that yogurt you keep going. Check your measurements so you can see your body morphing as you shed body fat and add lean muslce tissue too from that atkins exercise and proteins.

Since you did have hunger you need to see if it is the yogurt and if so change brands. Make sure your yogurt is full fat or add some of your cream allotment to it becuase OWL carbs are supposed to be added with a fat to help stablize the blood sugar.

Hungry days are normal we have hungry days and feed them and not hungry days and use the 6 hr rule to feed our body

      Net carbs???

Putting a time limit on "change" is futile. Your body is not a machine. Give it time to adjust.

How many chemicals are in that??? You would be better off with a full fat yogurt. Yogurt doesn't need to be sweetened.

I am still a pretty big gal...weight should come off quicker for me than for your size....YET it took me all of January to lose 1#, and I was following everything properly, incl water, exercise. That's just how it is, you will not lose every day or every week. ESPECIALLY when you have so little to lose.
But do not get discouraged. Just follow along every day that this is your way of life now regarding your eating...the weight will come off when it is ready. Maybe focus on a new exercise for toning.

I know I need to stop the time line but this time is not easy.

Actually I ate the yogurt for the first time today with a full fat meal of eggs and kielbasa.

I think yesterday was partially hormonal with the hunger. I actually am not supposed to have any TOMs due to the BCP I am on. So getting a period makes my body meant my body was really out of wack. I was having sweet cravings bad but I did well and I am better today. I think this TOM will be done today.

If I did my measurements correct I may have lost a total of .5 inch on my thighs (.25 each). But I didn't do the rest of my body.

I'll check into the full fat yogurt, I thought most were full of sugar. This brand had 3 grams carbs.

Thanks for the replies. Day 10 no additional weight loss is frustrating when it was soooo easy the first time around.

Did you read the list of ingredients?

                Not the plain ones.

As has been noted many times, comparing "this time" to last time is useless. This is now. It can never be "then" again.

Rather than eating 4 oz of yogurt filled with chemicals but having only 3 net carbs, it's healthier to eat 3 oz of plain full fat yogurt at 4 net carbs. It's also less likely to have an intolerance to the ingredients in plain yogurt than to the bunch of chemicals added to make that "low carb" yogurt.

The sugar in plain yogurt is sugar from milk, not added sugar.

                    .

Just be aware, that when you add a OWL food, you need to make sure that the ingredients are legal for that Rung. Therefore, if the yogurt is fruit flavored (has fruits), that yogurt is not acceptable for Rung 2 because it contains fruit. However, it would be okay to add that fruited yogurt during the appropriate Fruit rungs. So strawberry and blueberry yogurts can be added during the Berry Rung: peach and cherry yogurt can be added during the "other fruit" rung.

This sounds like a big pain in the you know what but it is necessary because if you are eating mixed rung foods (like raspberry yogurt) and you run into a problem like no weight loss or cravings, what is the culprit---the yogurt or the raspberry or both?

So check the ingredients and make sure they are okay to introduce in that Rung.

whoo hooo on shrinking your thighs. now measure the rest of your body so you can see next week that your neck chest waist hips bicepts wrist thighs and calves all shrink too even if the mean metal monster says you didn't lose any weight.

TOM actually does mess with blood sugar so having cravings for sweets is a normal TOM issue. DOn't you wish Dr Atkins had been female so there would be a chapter in DANDR if not a whole book on low carb and TOM?
