  • Negitive Ketostix, back to induction?

Hi all, I am wondering if anyone can suggest some ideas of what to do? I have been on atkins 5 and a half weeks. 3 weeks induction (lost 7lbs in week 1 and nothing in week 2 and 3 but was still in ketosis)

I went to OWL and lost 3 lbs week 4, 3lbs week 5 and then I had a bad day and ate 3 atkins meal replacement bars. (I KNOW!! argh )

The following day I had put back on 3lbs and have remained the same 4 days later. these last 4 days my ketostix have been showing up as negitive.

I drink my recommeded water allowance, plus more

I haven't lost any inches either.
Should I go back to Induction to kick start the ketosis?

    Thanks a million!! x

The 3 pound gain is probably water retention.

What level of carbs are you currently eating?

Because you really don't need to go back to Induction. You can drop to your previous carb level or you can continue with your current OWL and see what happens.

      No.

Remember, the sticks aren't reliable. You can be in ketosis and not turn them.

since you know it was a cheat and you don't have any craving issues right now just stay right where you are and keep working your atkins both the exercise and the eating parts.

after a week see how you are doing.

I am stalling now after going onto OWL, two weeks now. Everyone else gave me the advice to stick with it, drink A LOT of water (it took me 5 days to get rid of excess water weight). They looked at my menu and told me to eat more fat and more calories. So I am doing that and will see how it goes. Induction was torture so I wouldn't wish that on myself again. Best Wishes

Technically you are not stalled, since a stall was defined by Dr. Atkins as four consecutive weeks with no loss of weight or inches.

aren't you glad you didn't panic over that imagined stall and screw up your atkins cause you are in the 130s today whoo hoo!!!!
