  • Rung 3?

    I figured out today was day 10 of RUNG 2 and I did RUNG 1 for 10 days.

    I had been eating a lot of veggies that brought me over my 30 count but have not seen a gain in weight.

    Thinking of moving up tomorrow. Anyone seeing a problem with that? Am I spending too little time on the first 2 rungs?

    I am within 10 lbs of my goal weight although I have only lost 2 lbs so far on OWL.

    How are your measurements doing?

    You can spend as much or as little time on a Rung as you please. As long as you continue your loss (pounds or inches) and you don't have any Blood Sugar Instability problems, then you can move up the ladder and find your CCLL.

        Measurements: have not done them right so I quit. I am going by how my clothes fit and I can tell a huge difference.

        I think I am doing pretty too and thank you desert. Just concerned if I go too fast I will end up at bad habits again. It's my anxiety talking.

        Not sure if I am having blood sugar issues. I would guess no since I don't have any symptoms of dizziness, lightheadedness since I started. Do headaches count? I can't tell if the headaches are from ketosis or not (I just assumed it was from ketosis).

        I'll check out the blood sugar instability problems.

          Ketosis does not cause headaches.

          Headaches can be a symptom of a food intolerance. Another possible diet-related cause is low blood sugar.

            what not2late was talking about was did you have any cravings from your food additions?
            did they cause you to want more foods?
            did you over eat after having them?

            those kind of things are what you are looking for when eating a food in OWl for the first time and seeing if it messes with your blood sugar.

            then you need to see if you have an intolerance to it like getting physical symptoms like digestive distress, hives, or allergy symptoms like headache, itching, nasal congestion etc.,. If you don't have a reaction an intolerance nor an allergy then you are good with the food and need to see if the carb amount stops your shrinking. Since your clothes are getting too Big you know nothing so far is adversely effecting your body fat losses so you are good to move on to rung 3 nuts and seeds.

            Make a plan about how you are going to do portion control now before youg et the bag of nuts/seeds into your hand and have to portion them out when you are hungry cause you'd be surprized how much a handfull/ounce can grow when you are hungry and wanting some.

              Sorry I must have misunderstood. Thank you for clarifying 2big.

              I can't recall a certain food(s) triggering anything out of the ordinary. Some days I am somewhat hungry but honestly the longer I do this and the more OWLS I go up the less hungry I get (except the mornings, I am famished). I deleted my planned dinner last night of shrimp and spinach and ate an egg instead because I wasn't hungry enough to eat all that protein.

              Just like now I didn't finish all my lunch at work work but I am forcing myself to eat it (veggies slices with spicy sour cream). If I don't (esp the sour cream) I won't eat enough calories. And I know I need more calories and fat now to lose (thanks Atkinsgal).

              I ate 4 almonds today in my broccoli salad and had one serving of sunflower seeds. I counted them. And I ate them after I had my lunch so I wouldn't over eat.

              I will see if it has an impact on me. If they do, when will I know? A day or so or is immediate?

                immediately if they cause you a craving issue.

                within a day if they cause you a food intolerance issue

                if you keep eating the new higher carb level you should know in a week if it is above your CCLL or not.

                You actually don't need to worry about being too low cals on one day. Your body will signal you it needs more food the next day just don't only use appetite as your hunger indicators.Being hungry in the morning is a good thing. So eat enough breakfast to satisfy your hunger and stop.

                Dr Atkins told us in DANDR about the 6 hr rule for a reason, so if it is lunch time and you are not hungry and it hasn't been 6 hrs since breakfast don't eat lunch. When it is 6 hrs if you still are not hungry then eat a small snack. Your body will tell you it is hungry.

                  Nothing yet on the cravings side that I can pinpoint. I didn't realize a craving would be immediate after a food.

                    it can be immediately or it can be an hour after or even a little later that day.

                    So what did you have from rung 3?

                      Sorry 2big, been out of town at the wedding this weekend.
                      so far i have eaten sunflower seeds, cashews, peanuts and almonds.

                      because i went off a little yesterday on my usual woe. i know it's going to take a day or two to get back on track therefore i won't have an acccurate account if i will have a problem with those additions until later this week.
