  • Help with OWL 1

    Hello.

So I had great success with the induction phase. I lost 10 pounds! I have been on OWL rung 1 for 2 weeks and have lost 1 pound. So does this mean I can only eat 20 g of carbs to keep losing weight?

I haven't been very good about keeping track, but I didn't on induction either so not really sure what's going on. Has anyone else stalled with the OWL phase?

Thanks for listening to me whine!

    No.

    You still lost weight.

Weight loss will naturally slow down after Induction.

Then you don't really know how many net carbs you're eating, right?

Keep going. What you experienced is normal
But I have an important piece of advice for you: KEEP TRACK
You have to on OWL - getting those carb grams right is very important.

Dr. Atkins defined a stall as 4 consecutive weeks without the loss of inches or pounds. So, by losing that 1 pound you aren't in a stall. Even if you didn't lose pounds but lost a inch, you wouldn't be in a stall according to Dr. Atkins.

Keep on going and read the stickies above. You're doing fine.

I kept track yesterday and I didn't eat enough carbs. So when I noticed it last night, should I have eaten some celery, or whatever veggie to put me on track?

You have to cut out that chewing gum. You are just enganging your sugar response eating it like that. Spit it out. Put in some celery in stead.
You are under eating veggies. You need a lot more and don't eat that much avocado. Try and keep it to around 5 net carbs.

When you add in eggs add them raw and then add in the butter you used to cook them. Fitday is assuming you used milk.

Unless you had "fake" American cheese (which I don't recommend), then the correct entry for cheese is "Cheese, natural, Cheddar or American type".

What kind of avocado did you have? Hass? Fuerte? The carb count will be different.

And was it a cup and a half of pureed avocado? That's two and a half Hass avocados. A lot, if you ask me!

Sweeteners are limited to 3 servings per day. Each piece of chewing gum counts as 1 serving. And I agree with Liv that you'd be better off with no gum at all.

No, I had the real cheddar. I don't do American! Blech! I can't believe how hard it is to find ingredients on that site! I used cups for avocado because I thought it was more accurate than just fuerte or hass, etc. The avocados I had were really small. I think I over-exaggerated. I only had 1.

Yeah, that FitDay is a trip. It's weird that it is easier to find McDonalds food than fresh ingredients!

                Thanks for the help!
