They just don't taste the same to me as they do to others I guess.
I believe you. I read an article a few years ago about the difference between people who like fruit and people who like veggies. The study concluded that people who prefer fruits to veggies have differences in their taste buds and have a stronger sense of "bitter" than the rest of us. Do you like olives, avocados, and tomatoes?

Gotta second the roasting suggestion. Veggies take on a whole different character and flavor when roasted. Even my kids LOVE roasted fresh broccoli Drizzle with olive oil, add some crushed garlic cloves halfway thru the cooking time. When you get to the nut rung, a few walnuts added to this are yummy!

My kids will also eat cauliflower roasted-same way, drizzled with olive oil. Add some fresh sage leaves - mmmmm!

Hubby and I love roasted aspargus also, sprinkled with a little parmesan cheese until browned.

I'm soon going to try roasting both fennel and cabbage (not together, LOL)

Oh, and I look for any excuse to make creamed spinach - frozen chopped spinach (thawed), butter, garlic, some heavy cream and parmesan cheese - yum!

As we move into the warmer months, it will be grilled veggies - zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms, peppers, etc. Also a big hit with my kids!

I dont' really like olives but growing up we had an avocado tree in the back yard and I could live on avocado sandwhiches, hard to find good ones here though, also yep love tomatoes. Other veggies taste very bitter but I also have problems with some fruits tasting too sweet or foods being too salty when no one else tastes the salt.
