yep when you have reached the 6 hour mark you can have a small snack of some of your veggies with some protein and fat if you are still not hungry.

and congrats on not feeding your body just cause it was dinner time.

I am rarely hungry. I am hungry in the morning and eat breakfast, usually 2-3 eggs and some turkey bacon or turkey ham. I have to force myself to eat lunch and dinner. I can't even force in snacks.

Is this one of those congratulations on not eating just because its dinner? I don't eat dinner probably 3 nights out of the week. I know it is not my water intake as I drink around 2 gallons a day.

Food almost has no appeal to me. I find this strange.

        Re: HELP.....Not hungry

If you are at the stage where you are not hungry do try to eat your veggies as well as your meat/eggs etc. Maybe include some in your breakfast then for other meals eat your planned veggies before you fill up on meats.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

          Re: HELP.....Not hungry

yep add some of your veggies to your breakfast so you have a balanced intake.

in DANDR DR Atkins says if we are not hunger then we shouldn't eat unless it has been 6 hours since our last meal and then we should just eat a small snack of some of our veggies with some protein/fat so we don't force lunch when not hungry. Your body if you listen to it will tell you when it needs more fuel things like feeling tired, agitated, weak dizzy confused or slow thinking, light headed, and/or lack of strength are some of the common symptoms your body needs more fuel.
2 gallons is a lot of fluids. I hope somebody is monitoring your electrolytes cause you are going to be washing your water soluble vits and minerals out of your body.

            Re: HELP.....Not hungry

I know 2 gallons is a lot of fluids but I can't stop drinking water. I have to drink large quantities all the time. I don't have a Dr. so I don't have my electrolytes monitored. I have always drank this much for as long as I can remember, it is not new behavior for me.

I have tried in the past to drink less water and my skin gets really dry, so does my hair and I feel weak. So I guess my question now is if my body is telling me to drink water should I stop? I am always thirsty and always have been. I am not diabetic I know that much as I was seen by a Dr. last year. I actually have hypoglycemia.

I eat a lot of veggi's I actually love veggi's. I just have to force it in, like I said I am not hungry.

I do know the don't eat when we are not hungry thing and the 6 hour rule. I guess I am just being silly. I am sorry. I do know though I am not consuming enough calories. I think it is usually around 800-1000 a day.

              That's "famine mode" eating.

                  Re: HELP.....Not hungry

Have you posted some typical days of menus with quantities of everything so people can maybe suggest some 'tweaks' to get more nutrition/calories into the same sort of quantities of food.

Our 'review my menu' forum regulars are good at that sort of advice.

Or post a link to your fitday account (if you have one) to save on the typing

Sometimes something simple like dropping the lettuce and add higher cal/carb veggies, or choosing fattier and therefore more calorific meats will do the trick without making you eat more 'food' in general.

OP when I got in the never hungry phase I would have an eggnog shake for dinner, toss in some pumpkin if you still need some veggies for the day. That way I got my nutrients in a but didn't have sit down and eat. Seemed to last about 2 weeks then my appetite returned to normal.

Are you talking about DANDR 2002?

                        In Chapter 4 it says:

"Don't ever go more than six hours without having a meal or protein-rich snack."

                        And in Chapter 11:

"When hungry, eat the amount that makes you feel satisfied but not stuffed. When not hungry, eat a small controlled carbohydrate snack to accompany your nutritional supplements."

Dr. Atkins never says in DANDR 2002 that "if we are not hungry then we shouldn't eat unless it has been 6 hours since our last meal"... and I disagree that this is the logical conclusion that results from the two statements I quoted above.

If you buy the pumpkin canned,
make sure it is 100% pure pumpkin,
                            not Pumpkin Pie filling.
Most stores shelf both, and the cans look alike.

That is funny, because I have 2 cans of pumpkin in my pantry. I knew one was filling and the other just pumpkin. I opened the filling one on accident and could tell right away from the sugar smell when the lid came off. It went right in the compost then I opened the right one.
