  • First week of OWL going ok

Well, I am about 5 days into rung one. I weighed myself and had only lost about 8 tenths of a pound. HOWEVER, I am down 2 belt loops on my belt. My face is no longer puffy in the morning, and my wife told me that I stopped snoring. I have been feeling more rested throughout the day, so I assume I am breathing better at night. I am not concerned about not losing much weight. I am losing inches.

I tried the tuna muffins on Linda's Low Carb site. I probably need to stop making them. Not because they are stalling me, but because they taste so good that I'll eat six of them through out the day. I make 12 at a time so I should have enough for 2 days. I don't. I was wondering where they were going until I saw my three year old and my six year old in their room eating some of them. I think my wife has been eating them, too.

All they are is diced celery, diced onion and diced green peppers with egg, tuna, and chedder cheese. They are pretty small and are listed as 1 net carb each.

I also bought some avacadoes, but my wife ate them. I need to find a place to hide my goodies!

Since tuna has a lot of mercury in it these days, and since mercury is a neurotoxin, maybe that will keep you from overeating the muffins!

I'm sure you can always substitute another type of fish for the tuna, like salmon or cod, or even something like cooked chicken or turkey or crab!

Re: First week of OWL going ok

Keep with it Coach! I have lost more weight per week in OWL than I did on Induction and Extended Induction. Sometimes getting all 25-30 net carbs from mostly veggies can be a little tedious so start experimenting with the higher carb foods like Avocados, red peppers and onions. Keep up with the recipes and trying new things so you can succeed at this WOL. Don't be afraid of the following rungs, but take it slow. It is very hard to learn this fact, but weight loss becomes somewhat secondary when you start thinking about this whole thing on a long term basis. I weigh myself once a week, but I no longer pay attention to the weight loss for weight loss sake. I weigh-in to see if any new foods are problem foods, but in general, I just pay attention to how I look, feel and how my clothes fit. You may stalla nd you may gain a pound in a week......just keep with it!

I know the feeling well of fixing your food and finding somebody else eating it

Glad you are feeling better and not a scalenumberphobic guy.
